Police warning NYC

NYC Police have a special task force to target motorcycle riders. They will be extremely vigilant during the last month of June and the first month of July.

I was treated absolutely inappropriately this morning by an officer who used clearly unjustified force against me on my commute to work.

If anyone else is treated violently or lied to by an officer please report the matter to both internal affairs and the civilian complaint review board as I am in the process of doing.

If you lack insurance, a motorcycle license, or up to date registration your motorcycle will be impounded.

They are shutting down sections of roadways and approaching motorcyclists armed with an extented baton.

Be very careful. In three years of rush hour commuting I have never had any kind of law inforcement issue until now.

NYPD does this **** every year. Thousands of calls and emails to the internal affairs, state reps, and the AMA and its still the same.

Re: Police warning NYC

they do checkpoints around here and every bike that is on the road riding by has to pull over and they try to do decible checks on the exhaust outside which isnt accurate, they check paperwork and look over bikes. It sucks cause u have to deal with the **** and when you turn around when you see them pulling over bikes they come after you. Whats the problem if your out riding enjoying a nice day and you have to sit there and go through a checkpoint. FTP

I was in my whip the other day on the grand central parkway. Mad traffic coz the cops blocked off the highway to pull bikes over. Dude was lane splitting coz of the traffic and they ran in front of him and turned his bike off and made him walk the bike to the side. ****** pigs. Wouldnt have been traffic if they werent ****** **** up and the dude wouldnt have been lane splitting.

And dam, sucks about 495. I started taking that recently coz I got a state trooper on the northern state that told me if he sees my bike again w no signals, mirrors or inspection that hes taking it.

Re: Police warning NYC

Sucks to hear others are dealing with even worse **** than me. I agree, first hand I've seen cops do incredibly dangerous things like driving against traffic in particular to try to catch sportbikes to no avail. Remember that case in Suffolk.... Innocent person killed for no good reason by an out of control cop.

Busting on people for doing bassically nothing wrong only turns good people into criminals and creats an unnecessary bunch of costly bullshit. Oh yea, and makes good young professions like myself leave the state

I had no clue about them shutting down the LI Expressway. Thats just nuts. For three years I've commuted from the absolute bottom to the absolute top of Queens on avg 50 miles a day, 9 months out of the year. Never any accidents, tickets, and in all honestly minimal bullshit with cars and relatively few close calls. All of a sudden they're on this new trip and I'm facing 9 pts on my license even after I get two charges that I can definately have dropped, dropped.

Whats next, are they going to go after road bicyclist for running traffic lights. They're already in full force on the water, in the woods going after quads and dirtbikes. Damn it people, why do people keep buying municipal bonds to fund this bullshit. Five years from now the Island's economy will be in total ruins because they've loaded this area down with soo much debt that practically no one can afford to raise a family here.
