163 indicated, MAYBE 145-150

But if yours only tops out at 163 indicated I wonder whats WRONG with it... Mine hit 172 indicated if I remember right on stock gearing
and now I think its 176 at redline with gearing??? Maybe I'm mistaken on what it hits now, been a while since I was in 6th gear screaming rev limiter at 120mph true speed

Good stuff guys...

I came from a hi performance car background and am loving the bikes! But IMHO, the 600 class is like the small block chevys... whereas the 1k class would be more akin to the big block set. Both are solid drivetrains, but each have their specific strengths/weaknesses. I am picking up an 05 GSXR 600 next week and am very excited. I think a turbo'ed 600 would be sick as hell! That being said, my 02 gsxr 1k is a beast and still gets the attention of my short hairs!

Anything can be made fast, conversely... an idiot that thinks he knows it all can inadvertently make a fast bike slow (i.e. "shorting" the clutch switch on a newer fireblade). That's why these forums are the shizz... because we can all exchange info to make our rides better, faster, stronger... etc. Just my 2 cents.

Ya damn ding dong! Your friggin D&D pipe ain't gonna make your turd f3 any faster and I would love to see that bike do a true 150. Just because your gauges say one thing that don't mean ****, Yamaha proved that on the 06 R6 with their false rev claim but arguing that is like saying an f3 will do a true 140.

Re: 600 is just a *** buzzer

funniest thread ever, I actually read the whole thing

One question, if speedos are so openly known to be wrong why dont the manufacturers fix the problem? (noob question maybe)

i didnt read the thread but they usually are off because they want you to think your going faster then you are. usually brand new anything with a motor the speedo tends to tell you your goin faster then wat you are. that way they can still keep thier claims true on how fast the bike is and still be with in the manufactures law requirements. same reason why a busa has a rev chip in it so you cant do above a 180mph.

more to come as i have a t2 garret turbo sitting on the work bench as well as a matching manifold that ive been tig'in together over the past couple of days and already got a thicker copper head gasket comming .............. and if all goes well , a bigger set of minuki's !!!
Coming from a drag racing world that 10.5 is bogus. I own a 2006 GSXR 1000 and it only runs low 10s high 9s. Also this past weekend I ran next to a 2005 GSXR 600 with extended swingarm, air shifter, power commander, and drag bodywork. The best time he say all day was 11.0 @128.

Not trying to start anything but there is no 600 (unless bottle fed or forced inducted) thats gunna touch a 10.5. Sorry bro.

lol a lowered bike and air shifter can't even break into the 10's? That's rider error not bike error

Don't modern 600's run in the 10.5-10.9 range stock with a perfect run?

i was just about to say that , and it wasnt anything huge for mods either. no turbo, no spray, just a small amount of mods and it hit just under 10. most of your drag racing problems are more driver error then bike performance

I got an old 600 97 yzf 600 most would say one of the shitiest bikes and Before I changed the gearing it would go 155 with a little left, weather my speedo is right or not I know a brand new gixxer will go over 170 from experience. I dont know if the speedos are right or not but on a brand new bike they cant be that far off.

Re: 600 is just a *** buzzer

aint that the truth. I got a 97 yzf600r and I can keep up with most of the bikes on the streets. When Im on the highway Im with or even a head of alot of newr bikes. Not sayin my bike is great or Im a better rider but when it comes to the streets it does depend on how you ride and most people aint doin more than 120-130 tops at least around me. I would never actually race my bike agianst another cause I know it wouldnt beat most bikes out there but when it comes to real ridin on the streets it dont usually matter what kind of bike you got. The only difference is my bike is probably a lot higher in the rpm range especially since I just changed the sprockets

Re: 600 is just a *** buzzer

manufacturers purposely make the speedo's 10-15% off so you feel like you are going faster then you are

It doesn't matter how new the bike is

I've had my f4i 172 indicated, but true speed is probably around 150-155ish
