i know how irresponsible i was, and am pretty sure im f'd. i ride a 2000 r6 and have no insurance. i hit a sv1000 last night, i dont remember anything had a real bad concussion and just got out of the hospital. i had full gear on and am in pretty good shape. im told the other guy got out of there lastnight. anyhow he had insurance and i am in the dark right now on whats going to happen. anyone gone through anything like this? at the very least i have to fix my bike and got a ticket for unassured cleared distance. whats with uninsured coverage on his part? can i get sued or what? im freaking out.

 

He's probably going to sue you for bike damages and hospital bills. Good luck

He doesn't have to come after you, his insurance co. will have their own people that do that.

to fvcking bad. no fault state means your own insurance company takes care of your own ****. i hit a 600rr with my truck cause the dumb bastard parked 2 inches from my truck. i went to court got the ticket thrown out and my insurance company told the dumb *** oh well call your own insurance company which he did not have. :YEAH

 

I think he was on the streets but anyways up here you'd get sued.

in VA, everyone is required to have uninsured/underinsured coverage... basically what it means is someones does a hit and run, or someone without insurance hits you, your covered. Even if you have the sh1ttiest liability coverage, you have this.
the way it works is, when you get hit, you HOPE the other guy doesnt have insurance because its a lot easier to get paid with the uninsured coverage, than having the two insurance companies hash it out and most of the time they agree to disagree.
if he has that uninsured motorist coverage, in VA youd be golden as far as not being financially responsible for damage to his bike.
as far his bodily injury, you're liable if you have no insurance that covers bodily injury. maybe tell him you make 12 grand a year and you live with your parents and you owe your *** on credit cards, he might pass on suing you

I'm new here, at this forum, but it would seem to me, that just for honor and integrity, you should pay to fix someone elses bike that you beat up, not say, f*ck him...too bad, so sad. Must be different attitudes than what I've seen over the years as a biker, and sticking by and respecting your 2 wheeled brothers and sisters.

This is why you need insurance on your bike unless you live in florida..Be prepared to pay for all his **** cause its your own damn fault for being a squid and not having insurance.

NH is the same way. You dont NEED insurance but if you hit someone there going to get money from you one way or another.

If your in california you can sue for ANYTHING so the trick is to just make something up and sue him first
