Still struggling
Re: Still struggling
just put on the -1 sprocket, its not gonna be a huge difference but the bike will come up easier... find yourself a lot and practice the clutch up from almost a dead stop while keeping a smooth and consistant brake input, at some moment it will click and youre gonna be like wow, this is the spot where i want to be! practice bro you will get it!

Re: Still struggling
I no longer ride with them to many people dieing. Its one thing to get road rash, its another to smack into the side of cars doing a standup. I am now just practicing at warehouses. Thanks again for all the advice

Re: Still struggling
Let me ask them that for ya, They can stop by and give you the info. I do know that you must pay a ridiculous amount of 275.00 for the vest, and when you quit you give it back with no refund.

[QUOTE=CBReFLeX;3291422]This is my fifty, what mods should I get to practice with it??

Change your rear tire for a scooter street tire.
I learned Balance point wheelies on the highway before I had a stunt bike just like you. Just got to be smooth on the throttle and bring the front wheel higher. You will only flip over the back if you jerk the throttle too much. Bring it up in a smooth motion. You will not flip backward, you will just sail it good when you hit Balance point. You don't need to use the footbrake for that.
It's still safer to learn brake control in the parking lot but you need throttle control before you bring it high enough to get to use the brake. It's just if you screw up then you'll be safer falling in a lot then on the street.

Re: Still struggling
i will be nice.. listen to this ONE thing. There is not an EASY way to learn.. everyday you practice makes it easier. don't look for some ****** sissy bitch way out. do it the way we all did.
Re: Still struggling
If you try and keep it, it will cause big problems when they see you out and about, just not worth the headache.
Very nice fifty BTW
Well Im caging it this weekend and gonna start just practicing everynight till I get there, I know its not easy for sure. I have raced for many years and just wanted a change. I won state championship, and it took years of practice to get there so I know how to dedicate myself when I really want to do something.

Re: Still struggling

Anyways noob, do what APEX said and try learning on your 50. It will help with brake control DRAMATICALLY. After that, try learning on your big bike. Try sit downs, that was how I learned initially and it helped but staggered stand-ups are a good way to feel out the bike.
Either way, if you learn wheelies doing sitdowns or standups try applying light pressure to the rear brake before you even start the wheelie. Zackie Chan taught me this method and it worked pretty good. If you drag the rear brake a little bit, and then do a normal wheelie (slip the clutch and twist the throttle about 1/2 open) from the get-go you will already be on the brake. YOU WILL hit the "oh ****" mode b/c you'll think you are going to high, so your first instinct will be to close the throttle completely... well when you do that, guess what, YOU ARE ALREADY APPLYING THE REAR BRAKE SO IT WILL BRING YOU DOWN. Make sure initially you are going about 10-15 mph while dragging the rear brake.
Try this method for a while and see if it works, keep applying the same rear brake pressure, bring the bike up and try to ride it out. After a while it'll be 2nd nature to apply rear brake. After that, focus on applying ZERO rear brake before a wheelie and practice popping the bike up and CATCHING the bike on the rear brake. Do this for a while and then you should be able to start from either a dead stop or close to it.
A lot of people say, try scraping tail or your 12 bar so you can feel how far back 12 really is. DON'T DO THAT. If you really want to see, grab a buddy and have him video tape you, go home, REVIEW.
Your main focus is slowing the bike down, throttle/brake control, and being in control of your bike.
REMEMBER... YOUR REAR BRAKE IS YOUR FRIEND. IF IT EVER GETS HAIRY, ALWAYS REMEMBER YOUR REAR BRAKE!!!
