Still struggling
Still struggling
I just cant get my foot on my break, it always ends up under it when I get the bike up, and Im doing 82 mph when I set it down. Couple of vids of me practicing. I can bring it up around 15 to 20 mph then I just keep accelerating like crazy.

Re: Still struggling

+1 on that, don't have any cars behind you.
bend your foot down until it hits the break.
then once you learn to do that ^^, bring it up higher
don't try to go any higher until you learn to get your foot on the break
Re: Still struggling
They where taking video also, and I had no idea he jumped in the lane behind me. I told him not to do that, cause I don't want my *** ran over. Is a handbrake easier to use?
Re: Still struggling
Talk about where not to be when stunting, my wife and daughter got footage of this the same day, kept thinking man he's lucky he didn't fall off

Re: Still struggling
Sorry for bothering you all, just trying to learn. Im sure you all started out perfectly and had no questions either. People told me not to join this forum and ask questions, because you will just get burned. Again sorry for bothering you. I will just keep practicing and figure it out.
Re: Still struggling
You should get in a lot and learn the rear brake coz when you need it on the highway and dont got it on lock, its gonna be trouble
Oh and I'll tell you what everyone else will too.
Practice, practice and yeah some more practice. Good luck

Re: Still struggling
Thanks..I am ordering a hand brake and a cage this week. Im trying to get a hold of OMR so I can get one from him. I kept trying to practice at the wearhouse but I cant slow it down to practice in there.

HOWEVER....
there are good people on here who will help you.
2nd, always USE the search button 1st. If you can't find what you are looking for, then post a thread... but ALWAYS start off the 1st portion of your thread with "I have tried searching". I will forewarn you though, there are some serious E-Detectives on here who will bust your chops if you are lying... they are gangster like that.
Finally, check out these threads. These are very helpful to beginning stunters who need some help. Try reading through these 1st, if that doesn't help, come back and ask questions, DON'T REPLY WITH YOUR ABOVE COMMENTS b/c it won't help your case any.
(At the top of the page you will see "Sticky Threads", go to the "Complete Guide for Learning Basic Wheelies". This should help, and at least give you a start)

Re: Still struggling
AND PS... YOU DON'T NEED A HANDBRAKE YET. The ABSOLUTE WORST thing you can do is get a handbrake and try riding above your skill level. HB's are for those who have graduated from using a footbrake and realize how to control a wheelie when it gets out of control.
Learn FB first, learn how to 12 your bike and bring it back, learn how to slow down your wheelies to either idle or just above idle and LEARN CONTROL before you get a HB.
If you don't believe ANY of the **** I'm saying, go out and get a HB tomorrow and have fun wadding up your bike. Let me know what parts are for sale.

Re: Still struggling
Word slow it down when you clutch. Start rollin at like 10 and clutch it up then go to 5 and finally clutch it up from an almost dead stop. Dont try to ride em out initially - pop it up and catch it with the brake. Keep going higher and higher until you mash your tail section up. Then youll know just how high bp really is and you'll be able to catch it with the brake before hitting the tail. And at least youll still be alive to enjoy the stress youre gonna have for the next 5 years trying to rock this ****

stop posing on a bike that you and your friends lifted up, you squid!!!!
Re: Still struggling
Try learning sitting down. I would normally recommend standing up, but if you're slipping under the brake perhaps changing the position will help. Give the guy a break guys, he came on here asking a legit question. In the end, best advice is to get your hands on a 50-100cc bike and learn the brake there. Transferring it to a big bike will save you time and money.
Re: Still struggling
stop posting avatars that make you look pro when really its a pic of you bailin from a seat stander.

Re: Still struggling
dude...i'm no senior postwhore here but the reason for that is because i read more than i ask. things like this really have been talked about. get it off the streets....especially if your foot is slippin under the brake. slow it down...and dont get angry when the guys who know what they're doing give u advice. thats just my two cents. alot of the guys here are where they're at in the game for a reason...they deserve a lil respect.
Re: Still struggling
I still have stock gears, I did buy a 1 down for the front, I just have not put it on yet. Somebody here awhile back told me to learn with the stock gears first. Thanks for all the advice
