Question about case cages

I hear that one of you makes case cages for 900rrs. Ive seen them on some (Coffeys RR), but dont know exactly how to make one or get one. Can any of you help me out? How much to have one made? What the best material to make one? How difficult is it to do? Thanks I appreciate it.

D.
P.S. You hear about ideas for a STUNT WEEK?

Yo - bro - two people make them down here - two different styles.
go to Xtreme Chaos forums to see some pics of the crash cages for the 900RR.......I think Sportbike Hype has some pics up of the other.

Adam of Sportbike Hype made mine - and we tested them out last Sunday - and it did not break the case cover or the frame !!!! From a 12 o'clock and it fell over and slide for a bit. Few scratches and a broken mirror. It even saved the exhaust pipe !

I also purchased one of Adams 12 bars - really nice.

Tim from P.O.B. makes the other type which is adapted unto the frame sliders that he makes - so you will need to purchase the frame sliders as well. You will have to ask him or one of the P.O.B. guys about how well they work. Tima also makes 12 bars as well and they are really nice.

Well that is my .12 cents worth.

Thanks- I will check both guys out. I figure it is a good investment. Both my covers are getting messed up as it is. It sounds you are happy with yours so I will give it a try. How much did he charge you, if you dont mind? I will look into wheelie bars too.

peace

Derrek

Well - since mine was the first 900RR that he has done - he gave me a deal on mine......so just post something in the SBH forum or PM Adam and ask him.

I know Tim charges 350.00 fro his set up. But that includes the frame sliders and the one bar that goes from one slider and then wraps under the bike up to the other slider.

I will call Adam and have him contact you.

I can only recomend the ones that Adam builds - I have not heard of any one that has his gaurds that has had any problems when they crash. The way they are it protects the case cover and when they do fall over - it takes up the impact and displaces it throughout the guard to its three places that it is conected to the frame.

my money was well spent - and I know that Scott from Stunters.com has them on his bikes as well.

Hey luke - why don't you call Tim and get the pricing straight ?/???

That pricing is for the local guys !!!!!!!!!

The out of towners/state guys pay a different price.

By the way - Tims is not a cage - it is a single tublar bar.

actually dan, tim's is a cage. it bolts to the motor mounts and to the sub frame. and pat has dropped his about 8 times on the cage he has on his bike that tim built, and not once has ANYTHING broken. plus tims cages are a little more sturdy because of the material that he builds them out of. the diameter of the cage is a little thicker so it is a bit more bulky than yours, but i honestly think it will last a lot longer.

and i think that the only thing extra that the guys from out of town have to pay is the shipping.

call tim bro, he will hook you up. his company is called Freestyle Ingenuity and his work is awesome. ive got a cage, sliders, and a 12 bar on my bike that i havent had one problem out of. i will try to take some pics tonight of the cage and the wheelie bar so i can post them up for you to see.

Tim's is $350 for the cage, and $125 for the bar. I bought one for my 02 GSXR 600M, and tested it out a day later, worked good. My bike hit several times, the left case cover that always bust, not a scratch. Only foot pegs, lol.
