College online?

Do any of you guys goto school online? Do you think that it is easier or harder than traditional courses?

I just started back at school this past spring and have been taking class online through University of Toledo(Ohio). I think that the online classes are way easier than traditional classes, as long as you dont get behind. I got an A in both of my summer courses, and probably only spent an hour a week on each.

Re: College online?

I took a few classes online every semester. Been thinking about doing my master's online.
Speaking of what classes are you taking, I might have all the coursework considering it's the same college

It all depends on your learning style, if you can read and retain that knowledge without having it summarized and explained you will be fine. depends on the course too, you have to be disciplined and don't miss the deadlines.

Re: College online?

What is your degree in?

Right now I am taking a World Religions and a Criminal Justice class. I wish I had never taken a break from going to school, but atleast I finally started back.

I decided to goto Toledo because they offer 100% free tuition for all Ohio residents that are active military, so it saves me from having to deal with the Armys bullshit reimbursement program.

This is the only class that I have had a problem with so far. The reading is rediculously boring, so I have been stuck on page 3 for a couple days now. I guess I have to give in and read it tonight though.

Re: College online?

I did it. Pain in the ass imo. More reading and writing than normal classes had, and of course no college girls.

I don't remember who my prof was ... I'll look through my cabinet at home and see if I have any of the work from the class ....

Re: College online?

I've taken online classes through community colleges and four year colleges. They aren't bad, but it depends on the class you take and how familiar the professor is with teaching online classes. Some professors are very involved and others are barely there and take forever to respond to e-mails with questions. I took mostly English classes, but I also took an accelerated Spanish class.

Usually, the online classes are easier but I found myself spending more time on the class because I was required to log in and respond several times throughout the course of the day. But it's definitely easier than my graduate classes now because I have to go to campus to take three classes AND participate in online discussions throughout the week since we only meet once a week.
