Deafness form riding?

Man, has anybody had this?

I had an ear infection and it hurt like hell a few months back.

Well for the past week I have been having them ring and deafness in the ears. It'll fluctuate from left to right side.

But a thought popped in my head. I wear these ear phones that plug your ear so there is no ambient sound that'll enter.

well, that air tight suction may be damaging my ear drum.

The music isn't loud by any means so it has to be the pressure of taking them in and out.

anybody have bad luck with listening to music with the ear buds while riding?

Also, I ride 3-4hrs a day and more on the weekend if that makes a difference.

I'm thinking that's what it is. The last time I went in to have my ears checked they said that the drum wasn't torn, etc. Just red and sore.

so what gives.

Coffee at work. Caffine has an impact on hearing? I would like to hear more on this. As good as I can as the ears aren't at their most efficient right about now...

Re: Deafness form riding?

Coffee has lots of bad effects, one of them is causing Tinnitus (ringing of the ears).
Also like I said read up on Neti Pot, it can help with nasal and ear infections.
Ringing can also come from head, neck and back trauma.
Some ppl have it so bad they have to listen to sounds of rain to drown out the ringing to fall asleep.

Also not everybody likes to post 400 word replies

Try taking a water bottle with warm water (100degrees or so) put some salt in it (tsp or so) tilt your head and pour it in your ear a few times and let it sit. If you do this a few times it may break up the blockage you have in there.
