Not to rain on your parade but I have been a pit connoisseur for about 20+ yrs. Been there done that with all of them.

I would like to let you know that there is no such thing as a "pure bred blue"....


That is NOT a specific breed of dog. Its either you have an american pit bull terrier (apbt) or not. Most blues are not even from APBT lines. The blue lines are from American Staffordshire lines, which also has other dogs in its past. Thus making the dog one that has blue "lines" a mutt and nothing pure of anything.


Not just trying to be a jerk as i have owned dogs that are blue. Just note that in the APBT lines, they rarely pop up if they are "pure" APBT lines. That is RARE. Therefore, other breeds are tainting the line to create good "looking" dogs. You don't call a lab with a pit in it a "labrador" or a rottie mixed with a doberman a doberman, even though they can pass with the shorthair, color, etc.

Its the same. These are two different dogs and more being bred into APBTs that are called "APBT" and people believe and spread the misunderstanding as fact.

Nah, I wouldn't worry about it. For one, the average joe can be told anything. If you go to a person who knows them, it looks bad.

I recommend going to a ADBA sanctioned conformation show. Take a look around and see who wins.

You RARELY see a dog win that is over 60lbs.

Not only that, any smaller dog that is stout and blocky won't win either. That's not breed standards man.

OK, this shoudl give ayou a better idea. Also, go to this link and just go hang out at a sanctioned show. I've donw them for yrs. I was actually petitioned to be a judge but i didn;'t have the time and comitment.

Go to this link and read everything. Learn up on the dog you got. We'll stay here for now. You start getting deeper into the breed and want to be active in the benefit of the breed and preservation we can get you organized and such.

I dont say " pure bread blue" I say blue nose pit. so thers your breedspecific bikerboy. and my dog is for sure mostly bull than staff. the parents "Rip+Tear" are both blue. the mother with blue eyes the father with yellow. they have popped out 3 blues per litter. all great looking dogs.. and deffinetly are pitbulls. and you wouldent ever question that when you saw one.. and your not gonna see a mixed pit with a blue coat... thats why they are so gangster.. lol.. no but all pits are realy good lookin dogs. and thats the only thing I would ever argue about out of the "Blue" . Nice stout little pits everybody. keep em happy.

tyson's (my old pit) parents were both blues, he's half gotti, half razor's edge.

i dont remember the kennel he came from, but he's a purple ribbon dog.

i really wish i could remember, i want to say he's a gaff dog, i will have to ask my homeboy to look at his papers. he definately has the "gaff temperment."
