I'm very trashed in this photo and it sucks, but it shows my right side of my face... look near my eye.



and my lip.


What you don't see is the reconstructed nasal passageways... shit was crazy couldn't breathe right for months after it happened. My whole nose got crushed. His bite started near my eye and crossed down across and sinked his teeth into my lip and tore it off, and they reattached it with minimal scaring.

It goes something like this.


AKC will NOT register any American Pit Bull terriers AKA APBT. They have their version called the American Staffordshire terrier AKA Am Staff's.

Now on the side note, ADBA, the oldest registry of some of your oldest pits from many many decades back. They will NOT register any American Staffordshire terrier. ( well, I just recenelty was talkign to a few folks and I guess they started registering other breeds, but still do not allow the cross between the two. )


OK, now you have the stepchild company. Its still family but not separated in its decisions.

So they allow Am Staffs and APBTs to breed and call them APBTs or Vice versa.

Here's the next glitch. The ADBA accepts APBTs from the UKC. And the AKC (you know the westminster show, etc) will accept Am Staffs from the UKC.


So the breed on both ends have become tainted with the other guys breed thourhg that loop hole.


This is why it is extremely important to know your blood lines and follow them all the way back. Then you know there is nothing you don't want in the line. This goes for the guy who wants the one and olny dog breed founded and created in the USA. Everything is from everywhere else.

In fact the APBT was the Icon dog during WWI and WWII.

So if you want an american treasure and icon go deep in the breed.

Most people, just like those that buy a sport bike to pick up chicks and have no intention of riding it hard, and so on. Most buy "pits" just to get one and don't care abotu the benefit of the breed and just looks. Big giant body, short, stocky, large giant head, etc.

That is not breed standards and that is ruining the breed. You get these people whom breed over and over and over then his freinds or the guy in the paper, or that guy at the swap meet buys them and inevitably ruins them.

Half these fuggers shouldn't own a fish let alone a dog.


But from what i have seen here, even though it may not be breed specific, or to standards, what matters most is that you care for it.

Feed him, medicate him, and be there to hang out and impact its life. If your not going to show, go for the best of the best, and hit high standards, fugg it, don't breed it.

Youre contributing to bad breeds and laws that screw everyone up.

B/c unlike you guys, boneheads get ahold of them and its over. Now you have the blind leading the blind. Or better phrazed, bonehead teaching the next super bonehead.


Neuter or spay it. Your never going to win anything. You love your dog. So try to make a difference in the education instead of breeding dogs in which you don't know very much about.


we're going to lose them through the same methods as guns.

You have irresponsible idiots that ALWAYS ruin it for the law abiding majority.



Be A SERIOUS part of the system and the laws in your community. Make a difference.

DO SOMETHING.

awesome post man my gf is a vet tech and a licensed groomer we have four dogs and totally agree with what you are saying about breed specific and evrything but as long as people treat there dogs right i dont care what they call them

I groom her once a week, and use La Pooch Shampoo and La Pooch Conditioning Rinse... followed with their Conditioning Oil, I'm obsessed with having the most beautiful dog ever... haha.

and I removed the scars in this picture, cause I hate the way I look with them.... but eh, this was my first time next to a bigger pit since my accident. I was scared shitless.



But I have met TongWoo and Strawstunters pits, and they were nothing but nice to me... so I think I just got a case of a dog that wasn't socialized properly.

my gf owns a groom shop and it is not necessary to groom them once a week its awesomethat you carefor your dog but be careful not to dry out there coats and try to usesome oatmeal rinse or shampoo keeps them from itching if the coat drys out

i know, ive cut back a lot.
only when she needs it, and i just keep her clean when she gets into things. make it easier and yeah i heard oatmeal rinse type deal is the shit.

i used to wash my dog every 3 days, but i always made sure to use conditioner on him too.

great lookin dog. he looks a lot like mine except mines got a little more brindle. but size wise the same. i didnt get his ears clipped but regretted not doin it. so seein yours just makes me realize how good he'd look. Still a beautiful dog regardless.
