It goes something like this.


AKC will NOT register any American Pit Bull terriers AKA APBT. They have their version called the American Staffordshire terrier AKA Am Staff's.

Now on the side note, ADBA, the oldest registry of some of your oldest pits from many many decades back. They will NOT register any American Staffordshire terrier. ( well, I just recenelty was talkign to a few folks and I guess they started registering other breeds, but still do not allow the cross between the two. )


OK, now you have the stepchild company. Its still family but not separated in its decisions.

So they allow Am Staffs and APBTs to breed and call them APBTs or Vice versa.

Here's the next glitch. The ADBA accepts APBTs from the UKC. And the AKC (you know the westminster show, etc) will accept Am Staffs from the UKC.


So the breed on both ends have become tainted with the other guys breed thourhg that loop hole.


This is why it is extremely important to know your blood lines and follow them all the way back. Then you know there is nothing you don't want in the line. This goes for the guy who wants the one and olny dog breed founded and created in the USA. Everything is from everywhere else.

In fact the APBT was the Icon dog during WWI and WWII.

So if you want an american treasure and icon go deep in the breed.

Most people, just like those that buy a sport bike to pick up chicks and have no intention of riding it hard, and so on. Most buy "pits" just to get one and don't care abotu the benefit of the breed and just looks. Big giant body, short, stocky, large giant head, etc.

That is not breed standards and that is ruining the breed. You get these people whom breed over and over and over then his freinds or the guy in the paper, or that guy at the swap meet buys them and inevitably ruins them.

Half these fuggers shouldn't own a fish let alone a dog.


But from what i have seen here, even though it may not be breed specific, or to standards, what matters most is that you care for it.

Feed him, medicate him, and be there to hang out and impact its life. If your not going to show, go for the best of the best, and hit high standards, fugg it, don't breed it.

Youre contributing to bad breeds and laws that screw everyone up.

B/c unlike you guys, boneheads get ahold of them and its over. Now you have the blind leading the blind. Or better phrazed, bonehead teaching the next super bonehead.


Neuter or spay it. Your never going to win anything. You love your dog. So try to make a difference in the education instead of breeding dogs in which you don't know very much about.

Just like picture this.

You take a white person whose mom is from the Czech repulic and a dad who is from England. Or a person whose is black that's mom is from Haiti and from Uganda, or a hispanic person whose mom is from Meixco and dad from Peru, or a mom whom is Vietnamese and dad whose background is Korean.

The bottom line is you see the genetics of that person regardless of its close past.

Therefore making them white, black, hispanic, or asian. The dog you see APBT but its not an APBT.

You can't say, just because he is white, he's norwegian, or just b/c he's black doesn't mean he's Ughandian, or just b/c he is hispanic doesn't mean he's from Mexico, and lastly, just bc he's asian doesn't mean he's chinese.

Genertically maybe. But then again, white people and black people, which are supposed complete opposites are closer in genetics than 2 banadas from 3miles away or chimpanzees of the same pod.

That brings up another debate with humans being so close that we only have a 2% or less difference between our entire genetic genomic chain.

But this isn't gentics at our local university. If you have taken human genetics, then you know we are but virtually the same.

For example a tiger and a lion are both big cats. But if you breed them, you get a sterile moixture. Yes, its alive but can't reproduce. if you take a donkey and a horse and breed them, you get a mule, but again, a mule is sterile genetically and cannot produce.

Humans, reagdless of race or nationality, can breed, and producce.

Annnnyhow, it goes like this.


APBT and Am Staffs have VERY similar backgrounds.

This is how it happened.


In the 1800s people brought over english and Irish fighting dogs. The Irish dogs were small and topped out at about 20lbs.

Oncxe here in the states Americans used them for bull baiting as well as dog fighting.

Put yourself in the era of then. You don't have a grocery store, etc. You farm your own shit and do your own. Otherwise, your familiy will parish.

If my bull or my neighbors 2miles away has a break out with an aggresive bull, do I want to chance it? If i break a bone, or die, my family has no backup and thus will suffer.

Actually, this is where the "man takes care of his fam" comes from. B/c he did. The female did her expertise of taming the man and reducing his stress level when he had the weight of his fam suffering on him. So it breaks even.

Anyhow, if it gets out, send the dog. if the dog dies, your fam still lives.

with this, they also did dog fighting which at that time was not recognized as a bad horrible thing.

I mean, you had to grab a knife and slit an animals throat and watch it die in pain and scream in agony so you could decapitate it and cut limbs off so you could eat.


Realistcally, go find someone appx 75yrs old and ask them if 2 dogs fighting in the old neighborhood as a kid would arouse any outcry.

To them, to stray dogs or their own dog wasnt on the same level as humans like they do today.

I remember my friends brother in the kitchen and his dog started eating the dinner off his plate. I yell the dog is eating his food. he states "as long as he doesn't eat it all I don't care"...

If you woul dask that same 80yr old man if a dog ate off his plate what he'd do to it.

Anyhwo, in 1908 the AKC didn't wantto recognize for dog fighting. They at that time were the prestigious. Just like today, how many football games, basketball, etc has anyone in the top 1000 wealthiest in the world been to? None, they are above normal people.


So the AKC rich folks decided not to have any dog fighing aruond in the blood.

well, what they did was breed for looks.

They bred for big heads, stout body, etc.

The pit fighter middle and lower class kept it up. Then they changed.

APBT's stayed as lean, smaller bull and pit baiters. The AKC looked like a bad ass but in essensewould be killed in minutes, let alone 30min, due to him running out of energy and heart.

It was bred for looks and not function. yes blood is still there as they have the same backgorund but after 150yrs plus breeding in different directions, they are different dogs hence the nationalities mentioned about asians, blacks, whites, and hispanics.


GO take a chapion german shepherd and make it a police dog. You can't bc it was bred for looks and not work. In essence, they are TWO DIFFERNT dogs. Both looks and mentality.

This is getting long and if you want more info ask me. Again, I;ve been with the breed for decades and hear dmost of it.

Oh yea, the breed standard states specifically " the dog must be lean and be appx 45lbs as the originals were not giant headed, corrupt breeding mastiff in, then tak that pup, then breed it back to pups, etc.

I wanted a pit when i bought my new house, because i have a nice big fenced in backyard. But home owners ins in Louisiana is very picky about dog breeds. So while on vacation overseas in England, i picked up my English Bulldog. Cost me another $300 for him a plane ticket here and he was quarantined for almost a week. But i'll admit, he's been worth every damn penny i have spent. They do have health problems and the require alot of attention. So VET bills can get expensive depending on the circumstances. Also these dogs can NOT give natural birth, they must have cesections. Because the heads on the puppies are just too big for the mothers to give natural birth.....So this is why u spend good money when u buy one of these....I like him because when i bring him places, i dont have to worry about seeing everybody and their momma with one, LoL........I have bred him one time, the mom threw 6 puppies and money was great, hehe....=-)

This one was my pick of the litter......Sold gim to a guy for $2,000 and the guy even wanted to buy my male, LMAO........=-)

thats not entirely true, some mules have been able to reproduce, its rare, but it happens.

About what, 4yrs ago, I had one and sold that dog for $200 in the paper b/c it was not what i wanted in body stature, character, etc and not worth getting rid of my other dogs and lines I already had. I bought the dog actually for $80. I just wanted the dog to go to a good home.
