Carpal Tunnels a bitch!

6 months ago i got a fractured shoulder and was told not to ride or do anything for a couple months..so i did as i was told. A couple months roll by, i heal up, so i start riding alot to make up for lost time. Now it seems I've developed carpal tunnel due to "excessive riding" and it fucking hurts to ride for very long. Im not sure what im gonna do, get the surgery or see if it will subside(they said its in its early stages so if i chill out and dont strain my arms, and take naproxen and a whole bunch of other shit) it might go away.which i dont see happening. has anyone ever had this shit happen to them?? if so, after surgery, are you healed up for good from this type of shit?

Re: Carpal Tunnels a bitch!

its actually not carpal tunnel I had the same problem when i rode every day. you just have to condition your body after a while your hands will build up the muscles that you never use and it will go away. For now get some arthritis relief medicine. it should pass in a few months. also change your grips go for a softer pair.....

Re: Carpal Tunnels a bitch!

you prob just have some small muscle tears around the tendon and or over stained the tendons....i have the same thing...but mine went away from, stretching my hands and wrists, and a bit of exercise...
what you do is

get a weight if you can and tie a rope to it,make it 3 1/2 long and tie the other end to a bar of some sort,in the middle,,,i used a broom stick about 2ft long and you put yer arms out straight and with yer wrists roll it up and down..i started with a 5lbs because after the first 5 times yer arm are on fire...but after the the 4-5 day its not much at all...
but make sure to stretch yer wrists first...i started with soaking my hands and wrists in warm water..like hot tub temp....for a couple min to loosen them up,...then stretch out each finger ,then wrists then use the weight.....

i heard about that exercise but i thought it might make it worse for some reason .ill give that a shot too. anything to save some $ and a surgery. So you think after about a week of doing that it would get better?? this shit is taking its toll, my grip is weak as fuck.

Re: Carpal Tunnels a bitch!

you should ,,the doc told me that most carpal tunnel is caused by the the thumb and index finger and the inside of the wrist, being turned inward..aka like when you hold on a mouse...like out yer hand out straight and point yer thumb and wrist inward,,,youll feel a weird pulling feeling in yer forarm.....its because our wrists arent ment to move like that...
