Federal Emergency: San Diego up in flames, with me included

Dude this shit sucks. No one can damn breathe. The Governer Arnold is here already but not sure what he can do personally.

If you drive around the sky is gone. Its completely brown and all the way dark in some areas with no visibility.

They had to evacuate up north in Escondido and the freeways are shut down up there. My sister and my mom in different cars, due to the traffic, to get my grandmother. My sister got intercepted and sent back but my mom made it grabbed my grandma and hit the side roads back.

So the fire is heading south, and in a few hours went miles and from LA is all the way down here. Here's the catcher. The fire is 0% contained. Yes, zero percent contains and the mother fuggeris surrounding this entire area. Its not coming up from the border and from the north. So far there has hundreds of homes.

I have to go get some gas and grab my shit to put in the fuggin truck. Then probably have to head back to get my parents and my brothers squared away..... I knew I should have bought a motorcycle trailer. I could have loaded big bertha up and towed that bitch......

Gotta go. So much smoke in the air that the smoke detectors are going off in the house and the fire is 25mph away with 69mph winds in many areas like Julian, Ramona, etc. Most are about 40mph.....

They supposed to be getting 1000 fire trucks to help but they are coming from so far away and the fighters now are getting exhausted so its hard to say...

EDIT:

Also, you hear a bunch of stuff regarding peoples pets. And how they are worried about them locked in the house or in the back yard. WTF, why don't these people just shove his ass on top of the rest of your good and bring him with you when you have to evacuate.

Yah its hotter down here than normal, and super dry, the wind and maybe some ash is all over our desk at work, its like a layer of dirt on some of the desk that no one is sitting at,, out side just looks brown all the cars and sky roads, we are missing at least half our guys today cause they are either helping family members houses that are burning or being waited to see about evacuation,

hopefully these winds will die soon!!!!!

cant breath for shit and everyones eyes and mouth and throat have shit in them!

It is TERRIFYING to read all of this while it's happening,
and not from a journalist.. but from the man of the street,
things look apocalyptic as you describe them.

I have one question:
How can you keep abandoned houses
from burglars and home invaders?

I guess there's no martial law... but situation is quite tense, is it?

Re: Federal Emergency: San Diego up in flames, with me included

OK, here's the latest. My moms place got the mandatory evacuation tonight and my sister and her man went to help out my mom and grandma that is stranded from up north.

well, they took a chance. They said the fire was at a particular location, they went to go view and there was nothing there. The neighbors, etc are all still there. Turns out the news jackasses made a MISTAKE. What a bunch of fu

What sucks is that when they had left, packed up and ready to go, they could not find a hotel. The nearest one was up waaay up north at $500/night or east towards Arizona but you can't go that way as the freeway is blocked and fires out that direction is rampid.

OK so they decided, fug it, and went back. They are awaiting.

As for my pops. Things went fine until the news shows a location 10miles from him. Did some discussing and I told him I'd be back. I stated, "if I call you, you need to get packing, now! If not, I'll see you tomorrow. "

He's not even trippin. He's like " Ahhhh, man, I'm not even going to let this get the best of me. Hell, I'm going to work tomorrow morning" My dad works harder than anyone I personally know. Like the guy ALWAYS works. Everyday, most holidays, etc. Like " If its not x-mas, I'm at work" even if he doesn't have to go. So he's going to work tomorrow and not even worried about the flames 10mi away.

So anyhow, I go down and blocked by police. But they don't know me. Well, I get around, and the flames are amazing. The flames are 50ft and raging across the mountain. It was weird that the wind would create various patterns and barrier fire-walls.

One thing I have never seen before was flames on one side of the hill being normal orange. The other side being a ultra neon red and just smoking like a chimney.

Tomorrow the pics should be better. My camera has a hard time getting lit images at night. So during the day it should be alot better.

Anyhow, it raged and raged. well, the police came and made us leave. So me, vato loco, and some harley rider left.

They decided the young drunk rich kids who drove over a "do not enter" barrier were a little more interesting and we left. We drove to the end and vato loco left. Well, I turn around and biker is still there. I followed him to another sector and through some side streets and man it was brutal.

If you looked you could see people stressing. These homes closest to the fire as we were close are appx 1.5million dollars. They had sprinklers, hoses spraying at 1:30 am and so on.

Sadly, I had to leave after spending hours there.

I felt good and safe. I go to my pops house and low and behold, I see the flames that crossed the mountain. Now 5mi from his house!

I woke my dad up and brought him out to the front yard. And stubburnly "ahhh, it's got to go over there. We're fine. But shit, its moving pretty fast. Damn, well, we're fine. See you tomorrow..."

My sister told me " Hey, Dad is not a youngster. He is older, slower, weaker. Tell him, COME ON, WE HAVE TO GO"

edit: I just went outside. Fuuuuuug, that shit has spread out. It went from 50ft at the top of the mountain to about 400-700ft in about 1/2hr. Its now spreading down the mountain and going to hit the folks at the bottom and then it'll spread upwards. And guess what? His house is up top on the other side.

Just depdns on which direction the wind travels.

Damn this is hard as fuk. I want to sleep. At least for an hour. I went to bed last night at at 3:45am and was up and out at 7am. Tonight, its 3:15am and have a few more hours to daylight....

Its racing down the fuggin hill......

I have to go.....

Shits getting bad.....

Man, those firefighters must have a hell of time trying to get that under control. I wonder how much they make?

if you're MANDATED to abandon your house with everything inside
what makes you think that nobody will break in it?

Lock the door on the way out and hope it isn't burnt to the ground when you return. It's called insurance and it replaces material things if they are stolen or burnt.
