ok im gonna be real careful how i answer this..........part of stunting is layin it all on the line and sometimes stunting and riding u pay the ultimate price. As far as an rip forum no i think thats a bad idea. Think about it u want people to basically read the stuntersobituaries everyday to see if they lost someone they know? How would u feel if it was one of yer friends/teammates that lost his life and u sat down and wanted to talk to people that know where u are comin from about it and u had somebody come on here and make some selfish comment like u just did "I really dont wanna read about people dying" "I dont wanna think about what could happen to me on my bike" well then dont read a thread that says "stunter down" or "rip". It isnt all about u! Seriously this is a place where people of the same interest go to talk to others who have an out look on life similar to theirs. So thats why people liuke myself post here about someone they have lost to get feedback and support from people that understand the risks they take and dont have to here the close minded talk about how stupid so-and-so was cause he or she died doin somethin on a bike (even if it wasnt his/her fault). Its more than that though, part of the reason i read through the threads about someone losing their life he is not just to show my support in their time of need but it also forces all of us to come to some realizations. Lets face it we as a community have a tendency to feel we are invincible (whether that is good or bad in all situations is another topic) These threads stand to remind us that we arent invincible and maybe the next time somebody goes to rty something on his/her bike they will think first about the circumstances and decide its something better to be left to trying in a more controlled enviornment with gear on and what not. Take my opinion for what u want but i wanna leave u with one thing to think about....................... how would u feel if someone posted a thread like this right after u lost a loved one? How would u feel if i posted something that made u feel like I think your friends death and the celebration of his memory should be swept into some corner to only be seen by people who really wanna look for it? oh and lastly if yer really this concerned about it makin u think about what could happen to u on yer bike and u cant figure out that the thread is gonna be about a fallen rider by the title...................maybe yer just the one who should be usin yer brain before u get on a bike! | |

| I think Its important to remember our fallin friends as well as to share with the rest of the community. There have been several times where I should have been in such a forum. I would be honered to be remembered In such a way.

| Registered User ![]() | I messed up and meant for it to be poll so I had to repost, but in answer to your post...... Im not trying to down play anyones passing or piss anyone off, its just a suggestion. Its not something Im trying to push. But From my point of veiw I was thinkin that maybe it should have its own area for those to mourn to mourn becuase its so important, not only cuase I dont wanna hear about it.Ive lost poeple on bikes that werent even stunnin or anything of the nature. Its not about that.It about giving respect where it due and giving those who haved paid the ulitimate sacrafice there own lil slice of this forum becuase it is probally the most posted on forum in this community.I dont want it shoved in a corner for them to be forgotten, but I think it should be a desicion for each to make weather they wanna be remined of how not invincible we really are. And I use my brain, I wear my gear, I know what Im doin and stay within in my limits.I think about the poeple Ive lost everytime I get on my bike and when I pass spots and stop and remember them on a Daily basis. So It isnt that I dont wanna be reminded of it, I just made a sugestion to honor those that have fallin and give them there own place to be remembered, not shoeved in with the rest of the topics in here if you wanna think about it like that.Im not trying to start a argument with you and I see your point, I really am not trying to offend you in anyway and Im sorry about any loses youve had, but like I said before, I just made a suggestion in the suggestions forum and shugga recomended I take it to a poll so here it is.

| This is a hard one. Part of me doesn't like the idea, but then another part of me does like the idea of a mermorial forum. The part that doesn't like the idea is the side that looks at is as an obituaries page as Sclevela said. The over all vibe of that kind of thread is depressing. It is also a forum that I would hate to check. But at the same time the other part of me thinks that if the forum is put up; it could serve as a good mermorial page for fallen riders. So I would vote "I don't know" but there isn't a box for that. David

| i think a memorial page would be excellent. but i still think having a forum to place "obituaries" for fallen riders and restricting that to being the only place that members are allowed to speak of what can and does happen sometimes would be wrong! (and I am sorry but even if the "rip" FORUM were to be placed here i would continue to talk to others on the regular pages about these tragedies because that is where people are gonna look more often and that is where people will get the best feedback and support!) Lets say someone has an r1 and they wanna ask a question about a certain trick............well i dont ride an r1 so i dont think i should have to read about that! lets make a forum just for r1 riders questions! Ok u have an event in cali and i cant travel to cali ......... i dont wanna be reminded of the fact that i cant afford to travel to cali! these examples may be on the extreme opposite end but sh!t this board is about the stunt community not just about a few individuals! Y is it that someone posting about a fallen rider is less deserving to be in the open forum than somebody posting about a non stunt related party they are having? maybe i dont wanna read about somebodies party! Come on the whole reason people post things about fallen riders is to get support from the people who they know see where they are coming from. Hell one guy posted about his mother passing away. It made me feel good that he felt posting about it here would help him and that he knew we as a family would support him! Was that wrong? Is it wrong to post about charity events like the one that the guys in new england are trying to organize for the 3yr old child that has cancer? I mean it could remind someone that there are very bad things that happen to normal everyday non stunting people also...........even little children! well im done i hope i made my point! |

| I Enjoy Posting At StuntLife! ![]() | ok, i didn't take the time to read the entire thread, but i don't agree with having a seperate forum for obituaries. while scanning threw this, i think someone did say something about how you wouldn't want to read threw it on a daily basis to see if you know someone who passed on. in my opinion, if a memorial page was created, and peoples names were just added to it, that would be better.

| Registered User ![]() | I personally think that a memorial page would be nice, but not an open forum about fallen riders.

| I Enjoy Posting At StuntLife! ![]() | I personally don't mind. My personal opinion, I rather see threads posted. It keeps you in check in a way. We all know the dangers of riding. So, to see a post about someone losing their life to riding would not be a surprise...Sad to say.. That's just my opinion. |

| Registered User ![]() | Ok a memorial page would be really cool to remember our fallen brothers and sisters. But to say you cant post about losing some one any where you want is not cool.If you lose some one and want to post about it on the side of my house fine email me and I'll give you the address. These posts are to remember them and get support for there family and friends.I think it is very selfish of you to say some of the things you did,I could qoute them but I see no need for the statements you made to be posted again. You have gotten the replies you need to know this is not gonna happen, now erase your post. | Registered User ![]() | im with the idea of a memorial forum. it will give our fallen brothers and sisters there just respect. but we should still be able to post in open discusion about deaths in the riding world.

| Registered User ![]() | Cool, this is just a touchy subject and there really is no way to write about it and word everything perfectly. We just need to take a-lot time and really think about what were gonna post b4 we do. Make sure the approach to the situation comes off as best as possible.I'm not trying to be mean or hurtfull, I just think a little more time and thought process could've gone a long way in how your post was written. |
