Do you have knowledge of Sony products? BIG_C has a FD-75 and it seems to be sufficient for eBay, etc. My parents have the CD-1000. It takes cool ass pics from across the track, also capable of short mpegs. I have also looked at CD-400.

I will use it mostly for eBay, stunt pics, and across the race track. I know the 1000 has a much better zoom. I may do some printing of photo albums/scrap books.

Also, can I purchase from you? I would prefer to give you the business if you want it.

Thanks for you knowledge Nags.

I got the HP318 thinking it was a good deal for a beginner, but I HATE it. Some pics come out great, but when an object is moving, it comes out blurry. I do the pre-auto-focus thing, but it still looks like crap. I've even tried it on a tri-pod and it doesn't get any better. And as far as zoom goes, I have a 2x digital zoom and it sucks. I know next time to invest my $$ in a digital camera that has a zoom that is not digital. Nags, do you know what kind of camera Laura has? She gets great pics and I don't think pics get any better than Foto's.

I've been having the "action pic" problem. Can't wait to do it the way you are talking about. Just got a Sony DSC-107P? something like that. Pretty high on the chain.

The FD75 is part of the Mavica line which takes Floppy disks.. Very convienent and basic, but the picture quality pretty much sucks. The CD series is pretty nice though. The cd's are really cheap and hold a ton of pictures.

And nope, can't purchase from me. Not working at a camera store anymore. If you want to buy a bike you can come to me now :D

The HP318 Sucks.

Laura used to have the older model of the DSCS75..I believe she had the 70?

Foto is using a $1500 camera, so yea.. his pics are good

Go with the Sony DSC-S75 or DSC-S85 if you like Sony and dont want to spend a ton.

just got back from a 60+ bike ride out here in Cali. Got to practice the half-way button technique for action/wheelie pics. It definitely helped. I still like my old Olympus SLR sometimes though.

I'm really not a fan of the CD series. If you're looking for a nice camera and like Sony.. They have the new model of the F707 out not.. Called the F717. Theres really not much of a chage. I like Nikon digital cameras the best. The Coolpix 5000 and 5700 are both awesome.

As for bikes.. I work at a huge dealership. We have everything :D

I have the Canon S200. Ultra small - almost as small as my mobile phone. I haven't tried many action shots with it yet, and it's only 2mp, but it's good enough for me. And I got a pretty good deal on it.
