yeah im 20..21 in jan. still at home...college full time, and work full time. i still respect what she says cuz, well i live with her. but yeah its not like im a fkin deadbeat. hell, i only go out on friday and saturdays...and stay home ALL week. so i dunno, im gunna try and talk to her about it today. its not like im going to stunt it...right when i get it...haha. but i mean i just dont see what the big fkin deal is honestly...its my money, plus itd be a great way to build even more credit. plus my truck fkin guzzles gas, like a pornstar does cock. and me driving it to school and work every day and to my friends houses on the weekends, makes me fill it up 2 times a week, which is about 35$ each time. so i figure, 2 times/wk @ 35$(roughly) 4 wks a month would altogether be 8 times, and thats if i dont drive out of town...so lets see grand total of...280 bucks...if i had a bike itd save me a shitload. so anyways, keep yalls comments coming plz

Yeah, it'll save you on gas, but then you got more payments, insurance(Yeah, you're under 25 like most of us, it'll rape you if you have any bad record), gear(I hope to hell you buy at least a helmet if it isn't required) and maintenance expenses/upgrades. It's good and bad, depends if you have some stuff already.

my father used to race professionaly for a long time....so he is not agianst the idea of me riding....he just doesnt want me riding aggreassively on the street.....my mom still flips out....cause she has to sit next to me in the hostpital bed every time i go down and break my back or am in the icu for weeks on end.....she gets a little pissed......but i just showed up with one and they couldnt do nothing cause i dont live at home......that brings up another point....i find it funny how when i wreck and hurt myself people that dont ride are like "did you learn your lesson, i told you those things were dangerous" and every one that rides is like " so when you gettin another bike" or "when you gettin back on the bike"

Re: parents and bikes...

my parents told me i couldnt have one as long as i lived in their house. i always told them... well ill just get one and keep it at a friends house. i told my dad that i was going to, and hes just like "no youre not".. so.. one day i just went out and got it.. and kept it at a friends house for the first few months. after a while i couldnt keep it there any more so i had to tell my parents. they werent too happy.. but they got over it.... itd be kinda hard for them to say no after they got me a dirtbike when i was 10, and my father has had bikes my whole life.... hypocrites.... now they still dont like me riding (especially when i crash like every day) buuttt theres nothing they can do.
at one point they had a sit down conversation with me, and said "if you love us youll sell that bike". my response? "IF YOU LOVE ME YOU'LL LET ME DO WHAT I LOVE DOING MORE THAN ANYTHING ELSE". that shut them up!

the only thing im really worried about is insurance, but i dont have ANYTHING on my record...and gear lol u dont have to tell me, i dont even ride my 4 wheeler without a helmet really. if i had a bike id make myself wear helmet, gloves, and jacket all the time. id even buy 2 jackets, just so i could have a lighter one for the summer...wait its summer year round in tx lol... as for upgrades...i dont want to get too far ahead, i mean hell, i dont even have the fkin thing yet lol. i guess my mom will figure sumthin out, when i start getting packages in the mail that have jackets, gloves and helmets in them lol.

insurance is over rated i just waited until the got pulled over and got it that day. then they drop me when they see my record, but i already get the paper i need to show the cops. works everytime. but dont listen to me, im an idiot

make sure you get geared up, about 75% of the people i knew wrecked within 2 months. a cage is a good idea for a newby too, about 75% of the people i knew that crashed still have broken bikes in the garage

as far as the mom thing, just come home with it. you will never get anywhere in life following orders. if she flips then leave it at a friends house......sounds like mekrews house would be a good place

Re: parents and bikes...

I also just showed up with the bike one day, after my parents told me that I couldn't get one. My dads reason was because there was no more room in the garage and my mom thought that i was going to kill myself. So one day I just brought it hom, and there wasn't really much that they could do. They got over it a couple of weeks later, and now they are kind of glad that I got it, because I sold one of my cars(no reason for 2 cars and a bike), and the bike saved me alot of money on gas, and it is impossible to find parking in a car at school.

Re: parents and bikes...

My father rode when he was younger. He knew the dangers, but also knows it's fun, and I'm an adult and have been riding total for like 10 years.

My mother still hates my sport bike with a passion. She doesn't like to speak about them. Of course...I crashed outside my house once being stupid, and my brother got hit by a car, then had another bad wreck in which he almost lost his leg. My whole family wants me to get rid of my bike. My response is this...

"Everyone in the world could only be so lucky as to choose their method of death. Everyone has a poison, and I have picked mine."--the great theorist...ME

Re: parents and bikes...

My mother co-signed for the loan hah.

Dad found out the day i got the loan that i was buying a bike, brought it home and my dad wanted to ride it (he had a bike he pushed more then he rode he said lol).

Since the pics/vids on my computer they have got to see what im doin on the thing and they dont like that so much. My mom seen the pic of me doing a spreader on my computer and shes like "is that you" i said "yeah... i mean NO..." and she gave me the look and i just laughed and smiled heh. Dad seen me do a wheelie 3 days later and said "i look over and see you in the air" and i just said "yeah... you woulda did it too when you were my age and you cant deny that" and he continued on with the story of his that he pushed more then he rode.

My dad keeps askin me when im selling it and he doesnt understand im not goin to. Mom kinda just lets me do my thing but they both worry alot about me which is expected. K my life story is over.

Re: parents and bikes...

my dad had me riding when I was about 8 years old. my first bike was a 94' kanotuna, he didnt really care about it because it would only run about 80mph before it would start skipping and backfiring, but when i brought the gixxer home......the sh!t hit the fan. but like always,he got over it in a few weeks.
mom was a diffrent story. she wasnt pissed, just upset and affraid. she never got over it. the first night I had it, i rode it to work and before i left the house she ran outside and hugged me and said she loved me and she hopes I like my new ride.
then I hit the back of a car a year later and she came to the hospital to see me, she gave me a hug snd was crying and begging me not to get another one.......and let me tell you. hugs dont feel as good when you got road rash all over your back and sides.

so my advice is. if you want one, go get one. parents will always understand and forgive you no matter what you do...........if they love you

I guess i got it easy.....

My parents said that if i get good grades(I've been failing for like....3 years?), then they'll let me get a bike no problem. SO i'll just get a 3.0 next year, and ride it. I hope they don't find out I want to stunt it. I mean, they know i watch these vids and shit, but I told them "A bike is an investment, they sell for close to there MSRP when mint, And i don't wanna mess mine up, and lose my investment." hope it works!

My mom doesnt really care, as long as i be responsible. She rides my fiddy all the time.

My dad is okay with it, as long as i dont get a bike thats like 1000cc, which i wont anyway, because thats just a deathtrap to start off on a bike that big.

So f4i for me, and i'll be happy, and they will be happy.

Oh, did i mention i have to acutally get a car first? then a big, bad credit at an early age here i come!
