Whadda you bench?

If you haven't pressed anything in more than 4 months, don't post, if you haven't even touched weights before, and just "suppose" something, don't post. Maxim, or one of those guy magazines did a survey on finding out what people could actually do vs. what they thought, and some dude that said he could do 200lbs, couldn't do 135 for two reps.

To start this off, I do sets of three at the gym, at 225lbs. I haven't tried to max in quite some time, but my proposed max according to a chart on www.criticalbench.com is 245lbs.

I was stuck there for 6 months...that crap pissed me off.
I finally got help from an ex-Kansas City Cheif. I don't know the name, but he told me to widen my grip up, this was last week. Already, I can tell a difference. 225 for three was a breeze.

I'd try changing up my routine before I juiced.
I never plan to juice, I'm not even using supplements for now.

One thing I've noticed, going to the gym off and on for the past year (on for the last 5 weeks...finally some consitency) anyways, I noticed that size doesn't determine a thing in relation to strength. I've watched big people, 250+ lbs, struggle under 155; feet flailing in the air, looking like an ass. Then, I've seen skinny people bench the world. Well, 225 for lots of reps. My best friend has been working out rather steady for about 5 years now, never juiced, and he's benching in the 410-415 range, with a body weight of 216 I'm looking to get into the 3's by the summer (possibly the end of which) I currently weigh 199lbs

Re: Whadda you bench?

Hit the supplements, they will make a difference. Atleast try creatine and l-glutamine. My max was 365 before I hurt my shoulder, now I have been out of the gym for a few months and would probably have problems going over 300. Anyways, try doing dumbbell presses instead of straight bar, more movement and you can not compensate your weak side with your strong side.

Re: Whadda you bench?

I haven't maxxed out but probably do about 450 on the flat bench... Give or take 5-10lbs. Not the greatest b/c I am going for more gains. Fuk juice. If you can't do it, you can't do it....

You genetics may not be what you want, or something is wrong with your schedule or habits (eating, etc)

I've got a female friend that's 6'1" and 145lbs, and she's skinny as hell. I can't even imagine what you look like

In anycase, I am very confident I won't be hitting any plateaus anytime soon. Like I said, I'm aiming for the 3's by summer time. Seem reasonable? I have creatine, and glucosamine I believe (the stuff for joint repair) but I haven't used either seriously ever. I bought them, and they sat for the most part. My friend took all the protien I had, because I never used it either. I had different intentions at that time I guess.

Re: Whadda you bench?

I love the reduced recovery time I get with glutamine. Instead of 3-4 days between muscle groups I could do 2 days. But that is just me, you will have to find out for yourself if it works for you.

The juice comment was a joke...but it is pretty damn frustrating. Creatine is a mans best friend though. It works for some people and others it don't. Give it a try and see if it helps you. I would load for the first two weeks and then slowly start reducing your intakes until you are completely off it. Then after 1 month being off it...go back to the beginning loading stages...follow this pattern and you'll see the results pretty fast.

Re: Whadda you bench?

iwouldnt load, its a waste of time and you only used to have to do that for old monohydrate. now theres way better stuff like tri creatine malate and di creatine malate. try v12 or CEX but id suggest cex, seen great results. buy some dextrose to take with it cause its got a bitter taste to it, like vomit BLAH but im used to it now.

cex also has C AKG which is the best variation of NO2 (which is overpriced GNC owned shit)
