Albeit over a decade ago, one of the two things that I took away from my Motorcycle Safety Foundation licensing class was a statistic that has lingered in my head still after all of these years, and that is of all the documented motorcycle accidents where point of impact occurred over 50mph only one out of ten... YES, 1 out of 10 survived the accident when not wearing a helmet.

Neither do I. I used to ride all of the time with out a helmet on and I would always think "How long until I'm next?". If I ever ride again, cupcake or on my own bike, I'm wearing a helmet from now on.
