If you find a muffler shop that says they can do it make sure they give you a written quote. My buddy ended up paying $100 b/c the welder didn't know what he was doing and had to spend a couple hours on it.

its pretty easy, I used a angle grinder and chopped off the front section (closest to header) its completely hollow, the the baffles are in the back half.

Re: WTT f4i stock exhaust for a shorty

use a chop saw w/ a metal blade, cut a few inches off the front like tanus said, repack it then rivet the cap back on, or even self tappers will work... its not brain surgery...

I've got a minty stock can sitting here and I'd like to chop it and run it (if nothing else, just for the difference in volume) but I've only seen it done cleanly a handful of times.

so would you cut along the weld? and to put it back together do you use regular rivets that you buy at Harbor Freight? What's a self tapper? Do you have a picture of a stock can that you did?

the way I cut mine its actually quieter than stock, tons of back pressure too

I cut on the weld with a angle grinder, chop saw probably be even easier. I had my buddy weld it, I doubt you could use rivets. I tested it by standing on it, haha

[quote=*Tanus*;4181077]chop saw probably be even easier.[\quote]

Just make sure you don't chop saw straight through it. Cut, rotate, cut, rotate...otherwise you might cut into the baffling inside...
