Hayabusa or Z1000
I'm really liking the Z1000. I want a bike with a lot of torque that is useful for long trips accross the country. I originally had planned on buying a Hayabusa but from what I'm hearing about the Z1000 I'm having second thoughts.
Anyone with experience:
How comfortable is the seat?
Is there too much wind whilst riding to use for touring?

I mean, it would be nice to be able to do a stoppie or balance a wheelie out once in a while. The Hayabusa is basically a tourer and that's it. Yeah it's fast, but as far as stunting goes it's extremely limited.
I just have to decide what I really want in a bike.

Re: Hayabusa or Z1000
Well, February but I've been riding for almost a year. My dad and I are planning on riding to California this summer to visit our relatives and go on a bike ride with my uncle.
I don't think I could make a trip that long on a GSXR. It's not like I want more power, I just want more comfort and I don't want a cruiser.

Re: Hayabusa or Z1000
I'm not, I was thinking about selling this one and picking up a used bike for around 6500. My sisters is paying me 40 dollars a week to help her babysit a couple days so that's enough for the payment right there.
I dunno. I'll have to think about it. Right now I am thinking the insurance might be really high so I'll have to see.

Long trip..Busa hands down....
I owned one b4 and loved it..But when I got into stunts it had to go...
Other than that it was a great bike...Install some clip on risers and a double bubble for the long ride and you should be more than comfortable...
Its funny how the Busa has turned into a "Touring" bike....
Its stupid fast and is actually pretty good in the corners....
Cheers

if you are planning on going for rides up in the mountains then i would go with the Z1000 cuz the busa is hard as **** to turn as it is. plus i think the Z would be more comfortable for those long rides.

start with a six....get used to it first.
then get into the Z1000 if that is what you really want.
the busa is good for two things....
1) going fast in a straight line (there go's your license)
2) looking really f)ckin ugly
just my

Secondly if you are worried about a insurance payment on a busa how do you pay for your sportbike insurance, it has to be more then the busa.

Re: Hayabusa or Z1000
the insurance for a 16 yr old on a z1000 or busa will be killer. why not just keep your gixxer600 and keep yourself w/o a payment and lower insurance.
that is comfy enough that you can crank out some serious miles and you can still stunt the **** out of it. my f3 and r1 have seen many long *** trips and you are young enough that you dont need an overpowered sport-tourer like the busa.

Re: Hayabusa or Z1000
Actually I just checked progressive and the busa is only 1000 dollars full coverage!!! The GSXR is 300 less than progressive with Geico for liability and they wanted 2000 for full coverage.
I'm assuming the 1300 will be around 750 dollars a year for full coverage..
