Oil starvation, long term durability, cracking frames, weak fairing stays.... All can be circumvented but they are still problems. Dont get me wrong, I love my GSXR and wouldnt get rid of it but I feel that it has more issues than the Honda.

Re: Is A Gixxer A Piece Of Sh1t? Vote Now!!!!!

I just got rid of my 01 GSX-R and got a 02 F4i. The F4i's are so much easier to ride seems like the gsx-r throttle response is too violent I can feather the F4i much better. Also the frames on the GSXR's are junk and they just feel huge compared to an F4i. I don't think I'll ever stunt anything other than a Honda for now on!

I know 2 guys with F4i's - One has been through 3 motors this year already and he only rides the lot.. Another who has had his for 6mo and just went through a motor. I've had my 00 750 for a year and a half now. Had oil pick-up since day one motor still strong and smooth. Re-enforced sub fr. 905 no breaky or twisty. MXD track cage on gixxer = no hit upper - unless of course you nose dive tat shiet then any stay factory or custom steel stays will bend to shiet. Anyway that's my exp...

Re: Is A Gixxer A Piece Of Sh1t? Vote Now!!!!!

I like mine. Granted I'm not rocking spreaders of any really crazy shit yet, but I've had it 4 years, never had a single problem with the bike. Even after dumping a stoppie a long time ago, picked it up and rode it home, aside from hanging lights and shit, I'd have never thought it just went sliding.

I rocked my 750 for 3yrs, its a good bike but frames are garbage, subframe tabs, kinda heavy. Good endo bikes though. But if your coming off a 900rr, the gixxer has to be better.

Re: Is A Gixxer A Piece Of Sh1t? Vote Now!!!!!

Gixxers arent that bad. They damn sure arent a honda but they arent the worst. I ran through 9 motors in my 750 back in the day. The main reason I think I went through that many motors was because the gixxers have always been the track bike to have. Club racers would buy a year old streetbike, flog it on the track and sell it on ebay with "2500 miles" and then some poor stunter would buy it and it would blow within a couple months. If you throw an oil pickup in a motor that isnt already about to blow up it will run for a long long time (as long as you dont do revlimiter anything, hah).

The motors arent bad, they just arent.. well.. good. If you have ever been inside a gixxer and a honda engine you will understand the difference right off the bat.
