Gixxie sucks....a lot!!! But Gixxers rock..I have an '04 and Matt schwartz, Ryan Cramer and the likes of them have rode it, while teaching me shit and they love it...although I have heard that the earlier models were a pain, but TImex (my roomate) rocked a 97 750 forever and he was doing real good, but now he rides an f4i....I think to each is own...the bike is important but it boils down to the rider, and that was proven when Ronnie (DV8) jumped on my bike and rocked standup no handers and 0's without Idle turned up...so I know my bike can do the shit...but I have to do it!! DOn't blame the bike, blame the rider!!!

Re: Is A Gixxer A Piece Of Sh1t? Vote Now!!!!!

well i ride a buell, which obviously isnt a stunter, however I was just looking into getting a fairly new gsxr or r6 and over thanksgiving i was going to run to a few dealers.. but now im scared about the gsxr... so maybe ill stick with the r6... never ridden a honda, but it seems that people think they are tanks. is that true? P.S. Im looking to pick up a r6 or 636 for around 5K if anyone has any deals.

Re: Is A Gixxer A Piece Of Sh1t? Vote Now!!!!!

I would go with the 636 personally. I was looking at one recently. R6's aren't bad either. Shit gsxr's aren't that bad, plus they will finance ANYONE! I would say its more about what you like. Honestly if I had to choose between those three I would pick a gix just for the parts supply. I was looking at the 636 just cause it was cheap. It's all about what you want out of the bike

you can stunt a buell, I haven't done it but people do. Go with the 636 honestly. lots of people have them for a reason.

Re: Is A Gixxer A Piece Of Sh1t? Vote Now!!!!!

I love mine .... all bikes have there perks and the short comings.. I have replaced my sub... its gonna break just a matter of when. we built a bracket that goes from the front to the rear pegs to give it more dexterity and take all the load off the weak tabs it helped me get a few more in... I run about 1/3 or 1/2 a QT extra to help with the pick up, I been bashin it for a year and some change now its still strong. I admit I have wondered bout the F4eazy. but I gonna stick to my chubby girl..

anyone know how to move the oil pick up on the 05 gsxr6...i have seen the part,it's like 85$ ...you can get the link from the :compelet guide to wheelies"....

how much work is it to install the part?
does the bike become starved if you have it installed and your not 12ing

Very easy if you put it on the 12 bar. Drain oil,Take exhaust off, take oil pan off, take stock pickup off (2bolts), put stuntex pickup in using the same (2 bolts). Put it back togeather, add oil. that's it....

And no - doesn't starve oil if riding on 2 wheels.

They are a great bike. I've never heard anything bad about them. Thats what the majority of people ride in the midwest.
