not true, not even close to being true actually. you have to be a little careful not to burn holes in it but other than that....not too bad.

Re: Is A Gixxer A Piece Of Sh1t? Vote Now!!!!!

if you are gonna weld a piece of aluminum, anything other than tig welding it is gonna be crap....... tig welding is alot different than mig as far as heat control etc etc goes....
as far as the motors, i rev lim the shit outta my f4i motor all the time, and my old motor i beat the **** out of.... only reason i swapped motors=harness issues... I treated my old harness shitty and let it get mangled and started blowing fuses alot.... and the clutch finally started slipping after learning on that motor for 2 years or so......
good deal on a new one was the main reason i swapped a whole motor....

I love mine, but the subframe is always in the back of my mind. and I thrashed the front upper support and haven't fixed it...so I always have my headlight bouncing around

Re: Is A Gixxer A Piece Of Sh1t? Vote Now!!!!!

i started on gixxer and its like everything they heve there ups and downs.the subs are junk and watch out for the frame up front where the neck is the break there all the time the guy that works for me has never even rode a whellie and his cracked all tha way up he bought the bike brand new.as for the oil pick ups . i run a longer hose out the crankcase breather and do away with the emisssions shi.t and run the oil almost a full quart over ive never blown a motor and ill hold my shi,t on the rev limiter for minutes im on the f4i now and i still do it but Ryan was right its the GOD of stoppie bikes if you ask me

Re: Is A Gixxer A Piece Of Sh1t? Vote Now!!!!!

i had a '02 1000 and it was alright. Only issues i had is subframe tabs, subframes, heavy bike, clutch was waaaaay to hard to pull in, and exhaust valve going out. All those problems started after i was doing slow stuff. Before that, it was a badass bike to have to kill the highways on. I never blew the motor and i sold it with more than 15,000 miles on it and the frame never cracked.

Its all in your mind, 2d 7up on the R6 and your good.

YOu better come to Stuntwars this year with more than handstands and power whoolies. I just learned them so its on!

Mo Fo - I've had tabs that hold the upper stay and the top frame tabs that hold the subframe welded. Deep penetrating clean welds that hold up better now than before I broke them. He said it would blow up - he prob just don't have sic aluminum welding skills and didn't want to eff your shiet up.
