Re: SITE UPDATE: What's the Best Stunt Bike

I love the CBR954RR. The frame is awesome, it's short, the front is light, it must have the best brakes of any stocker. However, the throttle is really twitchy, and I have had a few mechanical problems mostly my fault exept the oil pump chain. It's really easy to get on and ride fast like a pro the bike will build a ton of confidence for you in the twistys,a bit hard to learn to wheelie cause of the twitchy throttle response and the power, great to learn to stoppie the brakes aren't just strong as hell but very controlable, needs a steering damper. Opt for the extended warranty if you can.

The best street bike for learning wheelies has to be a Buell. It's so easy to ride it's almost silly. It won't make you crap yourself when you open the throttle, loads of tourque, really short, tons of engine breaking in case you don't cover the rear brake, about half the revs to worry about, a really easy to use rear brake (you can mash it and it won't lock). fairly durable front end. Parts can be found everywhere with no waiting for them to be shipped in, more up-right sitting position (less concentration on where you are on the bike). I heard that the new lightning does'nt even need to have it's gas tank dented, Dave Sonsky from the StarBoyz wrote an artical that sais it's almost formed to your **** allready. Eric Buell really takes good care of his clients and takes the time to hear from them. You'll feel like they made the bike just for you.
Downfalls
-high maintenance (it uses a seperate fluid for the transmission) and the older ones like the X1 and the M1 are pretty leaky the drain plus are hard to get to as well. They wear through brake pads faster.
-slower, if your friends wanna be diks than they'll be able to dust you in a heartbeat.
-you'll be the envy of all Harley Riders and an outcast to sportbike riders
-120mph is about it
-lotsza vibration

Re: SITE UPDATE: What's the Best Stunt Bike

I have a gixxer 750 and I'd give it my vote but for ne reason... Those f-cking frames crack like humpty dumpty... I've welded my subframe tab like 3 times already...

So I'll have to go with the 929 or a geared F4i.

Re: SITE UPDATE: What's the Best Stunt Bike

Just wanted to give some input on 01-03gsxr600's.
Mine dropped a valve, smoking the entire topend, pistons, cams, head, ect at 9,xxx miles.
The 01/600 is notorious for dropping valves on the track.

My never crashed frame also broke apart at approx 9,xxx miles froma horrific speed-wobble. Steering head welds all broke. Also motor-mounts cracked, and the frame also tried to seperate at the welds midway back on the twinspars under the fuel tank. Again, this bike was uncrashed!

At 15,xxxmiles the clutch basket grenaded and filled the motor w/ schrapnel. Engine had to be disassembled and cleaned completely.

IMHO the gsxr's have weak frames and delicate engines.

BTW: this wasn't even a thrashed out stuntbike. Was a roadrace and streetbike, wheelies and stoppies were the worst abuse to it. JUNK!

Re: SITE UPDATE: What's the Best Stunt Bike

929
I have a geared (+10) 929 stuntbike and it is bullet-proof and does anything you ask of it. Parts are everywhere and cheap. Brakes are phenominal. Stable as a rock after the scotts dampNer. Great balance point. EASY bike to stunt and learn on.

929 gets my vote, but the 900 and 954 are also as good

are u kiddin me man?? seriously, if u want light and power jump on a kawasaki triple for a day. those were 3 cylinder, 2 stroke street fighters. i have 3 of them and even the smallest one i have (a '73 s2a) wheelies out of 1st and 2nd withought hesitation at around 6000 rpm. The powerband is like a lightswitch, under 6000rpm its like a tank, but once u touch the 6 on the tach the bike wants to effin spit u off. So basicly what im sayin is Kawi triples are the ultimate stunt bikes....
