Re: cbr wont start please help
when you hear the clicking sound do you hear the engine trying to turn over at the same time or is it just clicking and that is the only sound you hear. If it is only clicking then all you need is a new battery or to charge the one you have.

Re: cbr wont start please help
Step 1: Check all connections, make sure everything is tight. (And especially make sure your battery terminals are tight and clean)
Step 2: Get a battery charger and charge the battery FULLY overnight. (12volt, 2 amps: no more)
Step 3: Start the bike and put a digital voltmeter on the battery terminals. 15.5v @ 5000 RPM.
Step 4: If step 3 fails, you might have a faulty rectifier. If you have a spare rectifier or a friend has one of the same/similar year then swap them out. (03-04RR Rectifiers are different, so make sure you swap out an 05-06RR rectifier)
Step 5: Check volts at the battery terminal while bike is running, if you are getting 15.5v @ 5000RPM's you fixed the problem, if you are not you could have either a faulty stator or a faulty wire in your wire loom.
Step 6: If all of the above are bad.... BUY A CLYMER MECHANICS BOOK AND START TROUBLESHOOTING!!!

Re: cbr wont start please help
I've never had the problem your having... never really had to fix my street bikes. Had two gsx-r 6's and they ran pretty good. This may be a really dumb thing to say but I've had this problem with cars and I replaced the alternator... that could be it...? I don't mess with that electrical **** I let other people do it for me, I only mess with engines, frames, and tires... so I would recommend taking it to your local dealer/shop.
