denting out the tank...?

it's a 900rr and it started as a small tenk dent, and it got deeper from putting down hc stoppies hard + my ass it's not the florida type dent, it's somewhat even from front to rear...the problem with 900rr as you know is that it bogs on idle if not full with gas...now my riding time until it starts to bog is really short (after it spends 1.5 - 2 liters from full tank), and barelly enough to do one show...

so I was thinking of pulling it out just a bit (maybe 1/3 inch) but im afraid it might brake/leak...one bad thing is that it has a big side dent from a crash so the lip of the dent isn't very smooth on some parts...anyone have experiences or ever tried this?
