| Re: Complete guide for learning basic wheelies the right way First off tks 4 the gr8 advice bro! Just started powering up the front end of my '07 ZX10R in 1st gear (very aggresive I know) Feels darn good @ about 7000 RPM when I snap the throttle back. Thing is---I wanna ride em out but when the front kicks up, I close the throttle on reflex @ about 10 o'clock...of course I cover my rear brake, but I don't ever use it!! Should I stay on the throttle--just backin off a bit when I get to 10, so I could get eventually to the balance point? |

| Gettin 'R' Done ![]() | Re: Complete guide for learning basic wheelies the right way Excellent write up and advice... I just wanted to add my to the whole wheelie thing. I ride a 06 honda 600rr and it's pretty much stock other then the yoshi-RS5. I am by no means a pro rider and have been able to wheelie this bike from the first day I brought it home from the dealer. 1st and 2nd no prob. I'll stock bikes can be wheelied regardless of size and power. IMO what it all comes down to is the size of your balls and skill. Definitly clutchin it up is the best way to learn without looping it as you can control your throttle with less movement in your hand. I do my wheelies sitting down, but have done a few standing. I just prefer sitting for whatever reason. So, if you think your bike can't wheelie then your just not good enough or grow some bigger balls. |

| Re: Complete guide for learning basic wheelies the right way i didnt read all 32 pages, so im sorry if its been talked about, but im learning how to clutch in first and i think my rear suspension absorbs a lot of my launch. do i accelerate first to compress it? will bouncing solve this? should i make the suspension stiffer? if i do will that raise the rear end making it harder to launch? |
