Stunt Newbie needing help! I've owned a TL1000S for over a year and started messing with wheelies.... but I wanna do more... Usual guidelines for wheelies don't help with V twins.... there's too much at the bottom end and I find clutching up brings me WHAAAAY to high! (scared *****) Years ago I crashed out a few nice bikes and it's stopping me from pushing too much... What can I do? any help from someone outthere? I'm not cash rich and I guess that's part of it + teh getting badly hurt again. :O cheers

Re: Complete guide for learning basic wheelies the right way Yeh that some good advice but ad a 290 lb operator and a 550lb busa in the mix and you get me.. Have any advice?? But i seem to do alright .. The biggest kick i get is when i ride into local bike nights and parking lots and see errrr bodys hatin face , thinkin he aint doin shit then i do a couple stunts 12,fws,figure 8,,ect there like ooohh shit but , Still Hatin and still got there face on.. I learned on my own ,no videos , no magazines, but with a lil bit of encouragement from a deltona rider Rick Nasty and some practice for hours on end . You can read any magazine, watch any video but your still not going to learn anything unless you grow some balls and just do it "NIKE" Practice Practice Practice From : Rich, Street Xtreme / Insane Asylum Work Hard Stunt Hard Live Your Dream

| Registered User ![]() | Re: Complete guide for learning basic wheelies the right way my thoughts are that if you cant figure it out by watching videos and your friends you shouldnt be doin it. if you have to read instructions on how to ride somethings probably not right, some people are gifted with balance and some are not |

Re: Complete guide for learning basic wheelies the right way Getting it up on first gear (going 5-10mph) is easy!!! I ride a 02' GSXR 600... Most of the time I have no problem getting it up high. However, I can only get it up at 5-10mph... If I'm going 15, 20, 30, 40mph, I can't get it up at all. Every time I try the clutch technique at those speeds my rear tire slips. If I use more throttle the rear tire slips to the right like I'm doing a burn out. What am I doing wrong? Any advice??? My rear tire is @ 32psi... I have stock sprockets... Everything is stock on this bike except that it has a TFI box hooked up to it! I'm 5'6 and 160lbs... Should I get a new tires??? The tire still looks brand new (Power Pilots) Should I convert to 520 sprockets and change my gearing??? Or should your mom just sit on the back of my bike to bring my front tire up?

Re: Complete guide for learning basic wheelies the right way sup yo...!!! dude check for the surface u try to wheelie on... may b its not grippy enough.... go 4-5 psi down... try to rock a li'l... but do not pull handles and rock at high speeeds.. yes short gearing might help...but it also depends on ur skillset.be in the 1st gear only... give more throttle....is ur bike upto the mark....maintenence wise... hope this helps...if not ... then get back to me... again dont fill up gastank when wheeling. chow.. tc.

Re: Complete guide for learning basic wheelies the right way hmmmmmm......... it shud actually go higher...dont step on rear footpeg..... what gear u r in.....???? keep in 1. try clutching rather then powering it up....hope ur bike is technically sound.. .... try short gearing ur bike...adjust the clutch...etc. now...when u r all set to wheelie..pls take care coz now ur bike will have new attitude and if u r not cautious.... it can throw u off...try rocking at low speeds... but dont pull on bars. happy wheeling......
