powdercoating wheels good or bad

I am under the impression that powdercoating is more durable then regular paint. How ever i did a quick search on google and saw that ppl were saying its not good for wheels because the process they go through weakens them. I am thinking of getting my wheels paintied this winter but am not sure what route to take

I'm unsure as to how it could 'weaken' the wheels, I've been powder-coating rims for sport bikes for quite some time now and haven't seen anything like that.

I powdercoated the rims on my bike and I'm still confident to run them rims well over 140mph =]

powdercoating does not weaken a wheel. that would be like saying rhino-lining weakens a truck bed.

WELL IF THE BLUE IS POWDER COATING THEN YOU JUST HAVE TO GET HIGH TEMP FOIL TAPE, AND TAPE OFF THE INSIDE PART THAT YOU DO NOT WANT TO GET POWDER ON AND SPRAY THE OUTSIDE OF THE RIM AND RE COOK IT, AND YOU SHOULD BE GOOD TO GO.

Not really....because powder coating is baked on at high tempatures.

I've never heard of powdercoating hurting rims though...not to say that means it doesent.
I know that powder coating a steel frame after has been welded is good because it anneal's it....and this is where the heat and even cooling of the frame stablizes it from having brittle areas around the welded spots.
