stoppie tires?

Ive always ran race takeoff front tires and was thinking about forking up the $200 and buying a brand new supercorsa. Im rollin around 700 ft and not sure if it will make much difference in stability and steering. If anybody has tried both, was it a worthwhile investment?

Re: stoppie tires?

a front tire shouldn't run you more than 140ish. definatly not 200. brand new rears only go for 140-160.

I just got a free race take off pirelli front and rear slicks that have only one race on them. How are race take offs for endos?

Re: stoppie tires?

I like em ok but I get a little slow head shake sometimes. Race tires cost more than street tires, supercorsa sc1 fronts retail around 270 and rears around 330. Ive never seen one for less than about 170 new.

all you need is a pilot power with proper air pressure and a stabilizer.

you are either smoking crack or getting raped.

I used to roadrace and never paid that much for my sets of tires.
Maybe you should become buddies with one of the tire venders at the track.

Re: stoppie tires?

Which pilot power? Ive ran pilot power race soft before and it still didnt hook up quit as good as the pirelli supersoft. The pilot power race soft is still around 170 180 new. I have a gpr mounted on top and an ohlins on the front so Im good on stabilizers.

Re: stoppie tires?

Bill Dixon runs a pilot power 2 ct on the front of his R1 and was killing some long endos at king of the south. Seen it with my own eyes. But regular pilot power I think have the same compound as the center of the 2 ct's. Regular pilot powers work good for me, alot better than those junk qualifers I used to run!!!!!!!

Re: stoppie tires?

Are you serious dude! All tires will roll endos ... The powers are good I ran those for a while now I'm on the pirelli the only difference is which ones take longer to warm up .... Hell bald tires still roll endos long as you wait till its heated up before you bring the rear up..... Practice practice don't go blow money on a tire that works as good as any other I run the corsa not the supercorsa

Just cause he can roll 700 doesnt mean he can do it consistantly, on a shitty comp surface, from a 300 ft run, during a comp with pressure on him...

I can and have rolled 600-700, but will get stomped at a comp by bill, mitch, and many others...

What street tires did you try before? The regular pilot powers are real serious and have way more grip than most others, you shouldn't have any problems rolling with one of them...

he may not be rolling from a competition approach. lots of people roll 700+ from unlimited approach. Comps are about controled distance to show technique and control
