Just started Today.

So over the winter I bought some stunt stuff for my bike, than I decided I needed another bike before stunting mine out well I see Matt Thew Blankstrem from 1096 the other day at a bike night and Well I got the itch bad.. So Tonight I put the stunt **** on my bike and fig. it was time to tare the bike up and learn! Needles to say I am prob. done street riding for a while.. Anyway here is the first slow wheelies. I was at the stunt spot for about an hour tonight but I only rode for MAYBE 30 mins all together. I am also running completely stock gearing. Anyway I can't wait to practice more! I am in and out of bp right now but I wont chase it I just set it down if I get out of BP.
This is all 1st gear stuff barely moving when clutching it up so maybe 5 miles an hour when clutching it up.

Advice from the stunters on here would be greatly appreciated..

I also got a couple little vid's but the guy taken them didn't do a good job at all plus they were with my dig. camera..

Is there anything I should do to my bike, Tip over sensor and anything else?

Anyway Right now I suck but it's still mad fun! And I am going to try to get out alot.

Hopefully I will get more vid. tomorrow and pics. from someone that can actually take a damn video!

As you can see I am also kindof wobbly taken some air out of the rear tire should help a little right?

Re: Just started Today.

No squid Squashing or advice on anything? Also will Turning my idle up help if I am picking it up under 5mph? I am not sure what speed I didn't have my gages hooked up but I was just barely moving and sometimes almost a complete stand still. If so what should I turn it up to I am riding an 03 r6 it is stock gearing like stated above. I can still get it up from almost a stand still no prob. so I shouldnt need gearing until doing HC's Tank spreaders and stuff like that right?

Re: Just started Today.

Off to a good start. Looks like your working the brake in the pics
Just work on clutching and tapping the brake.

PS your video is like 1 second long

Re: Just started Today.

ya that's what I said the guy taking the vid's done a shitty job that was prob. the best one! stupid huh? anyway I am hoping to get more video tonight So I can get a little more help.. I just threw the video on to see if from that lil bit you could tell if I was doing alright and to show the speed and stuff. And ya I try to keep the rear brake covered because I know not only will that save my *** but it will help my progression as well. plus I can bring it back a little further even though I don't think I was bringing it back far enough yet. Thanks for replying.

Your tire looks good from here but a squared off tire wont help things.
Some people like the tire pressure low when learning slow stuff. I worked my way up to 25psi now but it helped me the first few days to rock it under 20.
Also being smoother on the throttle will take away wobbles.
Just take your time to build the muscles you need and the brake reaction to save you and youll be fine.

I always have the rear brake covered but for what ever reason I didn't Grab it in time I was trying to hit it I think but couldn't get it, I always make sure my foot is right above it! I also crashed twice today same thing over backwards.. I saved it 3 times but crashed twice Idk I guess I am just a idiot and am going to wreck more than most people learning.. I was how ever clutching them up from 0mph on stock gearing and catching idle but than I wasn't riding them real far but that's not what i am worried about right now I just wanna beable to clutch it right up from 0mph and catch idle!! is this good for the second day out or do I suck as bad as I feel I do? Any sugestions?

The crash in the pic. is also from idle.

O yea Im also gonna need an after market subframe!! Already broke this one!

Re: Just started Today.

So I have been out 3 night's now and I still don't have idle down real good and I am kind of in and out of bp. Idk I suck Hopefully I can ride with other stunters soon and learn. I didn't crash today I was covering the rear brake everytime but I felt like I was riding better yesturday. Also when I clutch it up I dont clutch it right up to balance point I have to give it more throttle first to get to balance point.. Am I just being a chicken or what.. I will hopefully have some vid. on here by tomorrow. I wont beable to ride tomorrow I am to sore anyway though.. Hopefully I get back out wed.

Re: Just started Today.

So I have been out like 4 days now and I still feel like I am where I was day 2.. Idk It's pissing me off that I am not riding idle as long as I want yet.. I think it's because most of the time when I clutch it up from a stand still I am right out of balance point towards the end of the night I was clutching it up alot harder and it was getting better.. I guess I will just go out every day night until I get idle down I know it's not that Hard I just suck bad!!!! I how ever still have been riding idle a little bit just not along ways.. I should have my idle at like 3000 rpm's right?

Re: Just started Today.

Yeah man,set your idle at like 3500 or even 4000. When I started slow **** I started out at 4k. Now I rock mines at 3500. That should help u a bit.

Re: Just started Today.

Thanks I will give it a try hopefully I get out later today.. I will be gearing my bike soon but only because I haven't changed the chain and sprocket on my bike yet and there are like 13000 miles on it. I wanna learn idle on stock though before I gear it.

Re: Just started Today.

i wouldnt run the idle that high while learning. i higher idle will force you to use more brake. i would also gear it a little as well. learning with stock gearing will be harder. dont be a squid and go out and get a 62 tooth sprocket, just up it 5-10. this will give you a harder idle pull, and you will have no need to have the idle more than 2000.

Re: Just started Today.

I wouldn't get that big of a sprocket I am actually looking forward to learning on stock gearing I am not one of those guys that think I need a big sprocket in order to wheelie my bike lol I know that it has enough on stock to rock idle or anything else while u are first learning. When I do gear it though I am getting like a 54 tops thats like up 6. but only have my idle at like 2000, you are talking after I gear it right??

Re: Just started Today.

im not sure because i do not rock stock gearing, but i have rode a friends with stock gearing in the lot and i do not remember having the idle up at 3500 or 4000. what i do know is that the higher the idle, the more brake you will have to use, when i started a few years ago, i was at 3500 and was having problems, so my friend told me to drop it down to 2000. i did and it helped me a lot. now i only run at about 1700-1800 and i love it. some things i will turn it up higher like sitdowns, and no handers, but for most ****, im under 2000

Re: Just started Today.

Lookin good for your first few days. Your goal should be to clutch it PASSED BP, and catch it w/ your brake. I know your brake control isn't second nature, YET.......but you'll get it. Practice, practice.

Re: Just started Today.

I feel like the past 2 days out I have gotten worse instead of better! It's really frustrating me and boaring the **** out of me as well, also I am not even clutching it up to bp now Im like right under bp most of the time and than have to give it alittle bit to get to bp, Would it help me not get so frustrated and be better for the bike if I add gearing if I am going to be clutching up from a stand still?.. My bike is also making a whyning noise when I pull the clutch in?

All I know is I am getting really frustrated I feel like I was riding better my 2nd day out than any of the 4 days.
