CBR1000RR Throttle tube/cables on F4i

Whats the advantage? Are they the same length?

Re: CBR1000RR Throttle tube/cables on F4i

advantage is you can rotate them downward under the bar so they don't ever get damaged.... and at the same time keep your kill switch in the correct position.

on the f4i the throttle cable and kill switch are one piece... 1krr is 2 separate.

Re: CBR1000RR Throttle tube/cables on F4i

good description. we lined them up and they seem to be about 1-1.5 inches longer, helps a little for db bars. we used the stock f4i tube and handlebar control tho because if you need to have both things on thier its just taking up more space but may be a good idea if you have the room

Re: CBR1000RR Throttle tube/cables on F4i

so if you get a 1000rr throttle control setup, it will work on a f4i, cables will hook right up???? does the 1000rr kill switch work to? will it plug right in????

Re: CBR1000RR Throttle tube/cables on F4i

Apparently it wont plug in but the wires all match right up and ya just have to splice 'em together.

Sick info to know!

Definitely gonna go that route to replace my rusted bent throttle cables..

My DB bars put as stretch on my cables!

Re: CBR1000RR Throttle tube/cables on F4i

I used my stock F4i throttle cables....did the exact same thing on my 600RR, and now got 1/2 of it done on my F4i...the throttle housing is on, but I still have the F4i kill switch mounted in my airduct.

On my RR I did the throttle housing and the kill switch, I never hit my kill switch when riding so I may just leave it in the airduct.

Also, if the 1000RR throttle tube has a diff. "throw" to it changing the twitchiness or whatever, put your F4i throttle tube in the same housing. I have 3 spares throttle tubes from an RR, F4i, 1000RR.....they all seem pretty close, but do have subtle differences.

On the wiring....splice it in, works fine. Make sure to do a good job splicing....I have a wirenut come loose and shut my shit off....I soldered that shit and heat shrinked it!

Re: CBR1000RR Throttle tube/cables on F4i

Ok, so if I adjust the slack up on the tube so that its non existant I can't fight the cable on. But obviously the throttle is tight as shit like that.

thats weird, try loosening the slack on the bottom line too, or if you have to take off the nut and just run one on the lower cable
