Re: how to air box mod f4i

first time i have heard of this too... only thing i ever heard for F4i's was to tape off the airbox ram air inlet...

BUT... every F4i that i have ever ridden (At least 8 or 10 of them) felt like they have no bottom end and a nice annoying bog just off idle... if this helps that like people are saying then EVERYONE who owns an F4i needs to do it!!!

Re: how to air box mod f4i

the clean air mod will give you better low end for two reasons

1- you don't get any of the hot oily air from the crank case in your airbox
2- by hooking the crankcase vent tube up to the clean air valve it creates a vaccum in the crank case and that is good for a few extra horse power and a couple foot pounds of torque

Re: how to air box mod f4i

and if your tip over is disconnected and your bike is on it's side this mod will direct any oil that is pumped out to go directly to the exhaust port not your air box

Re: how to air box mod f4i

I did it to mine, didnt feel any increase in idle power, but at least I dont have to worry about hydrolocking the motor.

Re: how to air box mod f4i

question: my 929 has pretty much the exact same setup, as far as the PAIR hoses, and the crankcase breather... think this mod would help out the 929? (right now i just have the hoses clamped off)

Re: how to air box mod f4i

having the hoses clamped of could be a bad idea because you can create pressure in your crankcase and that can be bad ........

Re: how to air box mod f4i

okay, i'm doin this mod right now

and holy fuck i had oil in the airbox! ...from prolly the last 2 drops,

already disconnected all the hoses and took off #3.

my question is...

wat do i do with the T/valve thats already there? just leave it there? (its got a sensor in the back)...should i disconnect it at the sensor?
