Habent tried that but from what i've heard from others is that the vent idea helps a little over stock but will eventually still leak oil everywhere... This KLEEN air mod is the way to go and it's cheap and easy!

Re: kleen air on my 636-good idea!

I see a lot of '03 and '04 636'ers are doing this, but do the '05 and '06's have the same problem? I'm more of a car guy - is this similar to the PCV system on a car?

Does that mean all? I'd rather not register there to just use the search feature when I'm sure someone knows the answer here.

Re: kleen air on my 636-good idea!

its the same on 03/05 r6... and GSXR this so called "KLEEN MOD", i have seen air tite kleen mods blow valve cover gaskets/stator gaskets.. so if u happen to get an oil leak after words don't freak out.

Re: kleen air on my 636-good idea!

this mod sounds way better than the 3ft. heater hose from crankcase to a pcv valve at the end and cap off the air box. has anyone done this mod and switched over, if so is it a lot better? i hate the mod i have right now, my motor needs some better tlc.....

Re: kleen air on my 636-good idea!

Yes it's the same problem on the 05-06 too.
That's what I have.

As long as your not creating a system that doesn't vent the crankcase pressure you'll be fine.

Wether it's connected to the Kleen Air Valve, or a catch can with a breather....it will be fine. Just make sure it can relieve pressure.

The Kleen air vents into the exhaust port so it's the easiest route in my opinion.

I've been riding mine like this for a while now and had no problems AT ALL.
AND the bike is a little more torky now wich is always a plus

I had that one at first but I didn't like it cause it would still make an oily mess.

This way the whole setup is cleen and maintenance free.

Re: kleen air on my 636-good idea!

Coo..... I just rigged it, didn't have a chance to try it out though. But like I said I wasn't having any problems before. I did notice a little oil in the little container before... but none in air box.
