To catch idle, have your foot on the brake pedal. Dont apply pressure just make sure your foot it touching the pedal. Then roll about 1-2 mph and pull in the clutch. When you are slightly moving, dab the brake to make the bike stop. As soon as you do that, blip the gas and clutch it up. This will make you come up quick and high without gaining alot of speed. Clutch it up and dont hit the brake til you feel the idle pull you back. Keep practicing that and getting used to the idle pulling you. You are allowed to hit the brake when u feel the idle kick in. If you dont feel the idle blip the gas a bit and DONT touch the brake til you feel the idle. Hope this helps. Once I did this I was riding idle in 2 minutes.
Went out yesturday after reading this and was riding idle in within few hours of practice. Thanks STICKYstunts

Re: catching idle

quick question, should I learn to use the foot brake first or just jump right to the hand brake for learning idle? alot of people are telling me to use the foot brake but i want to jump right to the handbrake.

Re: catching idle

i clutch it past balance point or right around it and just hit the break enough to slow it down and stop it from going back any further then just coast until it starts going down then blip the gas or tap the brakes as needed. Just idle stuff i usually run my idle around 3k

Re: catching idle

took me about two hours to catch idle. just don't be afraid to stand that bitch up, and do not jam the brake when you get it up, just gently get on it and let the idle do the work. And occasionally blip the gas. Stickystunts couldn't possibly explain it any better. good job sticky
