Re: learn 12s the easist way???

I have started a company based out of Rochester, New York, selling kits to build your own Foam Pit. They will be available in three sizes. The "driveway" which is 15'x20'x8', the "backyard" which is 40'x24'x8' and the "master" which is 60'x40'x8'

The kits will include everything you need to build the pit shipped anywhere in the country. The bottom four feet will be solid high density foam with 4 feet of loose fill on top.

Options include crane to remove bike which can either be electric or hand powered.

Installation is also available for an additional charge.

Email me for more information at info@fmxpits.com

Re: learn 12s the easist way???

wow took me some time to read all of these, about a couple of frigging days

i just descided to go with a scrape bar, i figure right now if i go back too far the only thing that will hit will be the subframe or seat.(since i flipped it and broke off my back plastics) I need to have a brake light and blinkers so i can ride to the practice areas, or for cruising rides with my girl who is just getting used to riding her own bike. so the scrap bar will at least protect that stuff.

The Last several years i just concentrated on videoing others and want to just do some of this stuff myself

i am no good with the back brake, my brain just forgets it totally sometimes
that is how i flipped, didnt use the back brake. Any ideas on how to learn to use the back brake

I got it pretty high several times let off the gas and pulled the clutch fell like i was going to go back and didnt or sometimes did. Now once i put on this scrape bar, i should be on the brakes before it touches or would it be too late after it touches then hit the brakes?

I know once i get up that high i dont have to worry much about where i am going because all i see is the gas tank, so that is one thing off my mind.

yeah braking definitely need help on that? any suggestions
oh and when bringing it backdown i forget to hit the gas sometimes

thanks
Keith

Careful just throwin a bar on, and practicing 12's. You could have the bounce affect. If you hit your tail too hard it bounces off the bar and jerks you in a different direction. If your a little wobbly, it could get ugly.

Start off already using the rear break before going into the 12. Before you even clutch up your wheelie press the rear break a little bit. Just like the clutch you have to get used to where your rear break catches. I always start off holding the rear break a little, then when you clutch it up to the BP you get used to more break and throttle control.

flatten your tire a little. try around 20 PSI, everyone has there different pressure, but around 20 is usually all around good for highway/slow stuff.
definately start with sit down 12's. 10 times harder than standup 12's. once you get sitdowns. standups will take no time. hope this helps. keep rockin! :YEAH

Re: learn 12s the easist way???

i just started to go for 12, there is no real easy way, just learn your back brake control and dont be afraid to crash. if your going slow enough you can just walk off the bike and let it go. i crash at least once evry day im practicing 12's, be ready for it.

screw that..
no need to crash at all. I dump and crash occasionally, but I don't crash everyday at all. You definately get used to steering and falling, and you get better at dropping and saving the bike.. just be the sickest rider ever, 12 and never crash. :YEAH

true that about the money. I wrecked my buddy mikes bike two days ago. Cage saved everything but the handle bar. now we can't ride, cause we gotta wait 4 days for the stupid part. and my bike still isn't welded

$110 for a 900rr handle bar.. ouch!

Re: learn 12s the easist way???

i got a bar on my bike and as long as you know the back brake pretty well you aren't going to loop your bike. You just have to be sure to be on the brake way before your bar touches. Try learning on a fifty first.
