636 rad mods

as ye know im building a stunt 636 and i was chatting to pez about the fan and he said that some of you lads are running twin fans of extra cooling.. thing is, a second 636 fan wont fit due to the cam censor being in the way.. so what kinda second fan do you 636 lads use? cheers

Re: 636 rad mods

No need for 2 fans just run the one but wire it so its always on.2 is overkill unless its crazy hot.

Re: 636 rad mods

i had the fan mod and i was still over heating.. so i run my regular fan and a 07/08 r6 fan on the other side. R6 fans are tiny and push a lot of air. I've never had any over heating problems since.

Re: 636 rad mods

I run two fans on mine dude. They are both standard, just get one from breakers. On mine I swapped and re-welded the top two legs and weldeded a tab onto rad. If you need I will sort pics out.

Re: 636 rad mods

No need for two fans i run the one on a switch but make sure its wired the correct way (pulling air through not pushing hot air in. Normal riding with two fans the bike doesnt get warm enough....

Re: 636 rad mods

for slow stuff should be ok with original one,for drifting and burnouts in summer you will need second fan.If someone intrested I can sell my old fan which is from trials gas gas, with holder.I chanched it for bigger one as my radiator is totally fucked.

Re: 636 rad mods

mine does alot of burnouts and drifting in a 15 20 min show and doesnt get hot with it on a switch.

All three of us have different fan set ups - Lee no mods, Me have it on a switch and chris has two fans on a switch but he only put two fans on because he wired them up the wrong way, now its abit too cool.

Hope that makes sense or helps

Re: 636 rad mods

my last 636 fan was on all the time and the bitch kept over heating!! why is it a bad thing to have the bike running too cool on 2 fans?? loss of power?

Re: 636 rad mods

The c1h runs a bigger rad and is dead easy to fit two fans. The b1h is a smaller rad and is a bit more tricky because of the cam sensor like ya said.
On a b1h start doing donuts and they boil fairly quick. Ya dont really need two fans here in the uk unless ya a noise and smoke type of guy !!!

Nope because they dont run right if they run too cool. B1h do head gaskets now and then. I would think that was the prob with ya old bike.
mine runs fine now i have changed the engine.

Re: 636 rad mods

I was looking at c1h rads and the only difference I can see is that the B1H rad has a thermo switch and the C1H rad doesnt.Has anyone ever put a C1H rad on a B1h 636.I was thinking of getting a C1H rad and just welding in a thermo switch. What you guys think?

Yep they fit straight on except ya need to make another lower bracket which normally break anyways. Just wire the fan on constant. I wouldnt bother with the thermo switch on a stunt bike.
