I have a KFX 400 (same as Z400) and I have been racing for 3 years now...........There is only 1 4 wheeler that will hang with mine before the 450 came out and that is the cannondale 440 and the reason for that is I have changed all my sprockets and everything for torque not straight away speed(who cares if you can go 75 MPH, my 2 cents) so I couldn't keep up on long straights, but anyways and I have heard nothing but GREAT things about those 4 wheelers...........So I hope what you all are saying is true cause I cant wait to spank one and make someone look stupid for spending all that the extra money!!!!!!!!!

Well, here's my 2 cents....
My buddy has a 400ex, and i love it. Granted, it has been put away wet more times than dry, but it still keeps up with my z just fine. So i would have to say that I like both for stunting. I would give my Z a slight atvantage, because it doesn't seem to leak as much fuel, and is a little more responsive. As far as the Raptor and yfz 450, I wouldnt know, because i havn't ridden either one, but i find it hard to believe that a Z would take the yfz. My buddy has the YZF450 bike, and that thing is an animal!!!
Just my 2 cents, for what its worth...

Condisdering all quad motors exept the 2 strokes and the new 450s and some big bore ones have came off a trail dirtbike lacking power, klx400 (were the kfx400 motor comes from)was condisdered a playbike!. But my point is now these 450s have 4 or 5 valve supped up race motors in them means power.

im not saying that ur 400ex and kfx400s are weak quads, they did put lots of stuff on them to make em more powerfulol and stuff but these 450s are totaly racing from the begining.

yea i would get one of the new 450's if i didnt have a quad already and i had 7,000 to spend on a quad. its not worth it to sell my 400ex and throw in the extra money to get one, that extra money would make my 400ex perfect for me. the new yamaha and honda are 2 quads ACTUALLY directed towards Racing. no quad other then the honda 250r has ever been built for racing.

w/ all honestly. my boy works for a yamaha dealership. he owns & rides a pretty modified raptor. the YZF 450 beat his raptor in its stock state. unless you've got RPM riding the 450 - i can't see any 400ex or Z400 beating it unless ur as drunk as i am.

450

My good friend just bought a new 450 and its is very very fast. He races national gnc. Used to run a Lonestar 250R. Anyway the fourstroke is a lot different than an R but it is still fast. If you beat a 450 with your 400 the guy was either retarded or had no thumbs. Do any of you guys jump your quads?? Or just do wheelies? Ever race a quadzilla? I have one and it walked right away from the 450.

Hey whats up fellas...I ride a Pred 500 and I ride with friends who have Raptors, Z400, KFX 400, Honda, and now 2 450s and I have to tell you that the 450 is by far the best quad out there out the box. I have been lucky enough to ride and jump all the quads and the 450 is the best in almost everything. I don't have one yet because I'm waiting to see what the Honda 450 does. I think that with the 450s coming out the 400s are out of the question unless you are willing to spend the extra cash to get them up to par.

You need to let off the suicide throttle when you jump and your front will drop a little and when you land it wont throw you forward like it looks like in your pic bro........... picture though

yea that pic was one of the first taken, i can honestly say ive gotten alot better.. i can clear that table top with ease... but still not even close to amature level yet.. but what is nice about the 450 is you can land pratically sideways and still ride outta it... but my thing is wheelies jumps are fun but to much work and seems it could be costly!

thanks for the advice tho!
