Twist Throttle????

Im considering adding a twist throttle to my 2003 warrior. Does anyone ride with one? To me it just seems like it would feel more natural like a motorcycle should, the only downside i could possibly see is it may be a little twitchy when riding through rough stuff. So let me know what you guys think. thanks

Re: Twist Throttle????

Yes ...I converted a 98 warrior 350 to twist throttle.... I didnt like it as much as I thought i would ....It also made a few situations harder than a thumb throttle (specifically right hand turns where you are leaning over the right side of the quad ... puts the control too close to your body and make it hard to operate a twist throttle....

The guy who bought the quad from me converted it back (He didnt like it either)

I have had a couple quads since and never want to convert the thottle again. just my

although for certain types of riding it might work well.... for instance , I've never done any real Duning ...in any real sand dunes.... It might work great in that environment IDK ...

good luck ....and post your opinions after you try it out

Re: Twist Throttle????

terry cable dual gasser, its both twist and thumb with easy on the fly lock outs so you can choose between either one while your riding.

Re: Twist Throttle????

I didnt like it very much right hand turns sucked. It was alittle more natural for wheelies tho.

Re: Twist Throttle????

If you change over to a twist be real careful out on the trails, when in movement you have to be careful not to goose it while trying to control it, if you only plan on riding the streets or a lot then it's ok...I rode a Banshee with one and hated it!

+1

The whole reason quads have a thumb throttle, is because to turn, you gotta crank the bars to where you can't properly operate a twist throttle..

On motorcycles you don't turn the bars very far, so you use a twist throttle without issues..

Do you race your quad?

Or do you do gay quad stunts??

If you race, especially woods racing, I doubt you'll like it..

Then again maybe you will.. but I hated it, slowed me down a lot in the TIGHT turns

Re: Twist Throttle????

I race it on the track and in the trails, I dunno, I like it, I do more trail riding then anything, I do the odd stunting on it but more off road with it, but ya its great for me, I fly through the trails, I find it alot smoother, and easyer to hold onto, since my hand is all the way around the grip instead of only half.
But everyone is different

Re: Twist Throttle????

Thumb throttle is great on stunts and wheelies and out in the dunes. Thats all we can ride out here is in the desert. But a twist throttle is great on long long rides. Usually doing dune rides you go like 30 or 40 miles to a point and 30 or 40 back so on the long rides ill take a twist throttle other than that, you can keep it ill stick to my thumb throttle.
