Rear peg relocation on DRZ....anyone?

I need some more leverage on the drz 400sm and the rear passenger peg isnt staggered enough...for me anyhow. Have any of you experimented with pegs on the subframe brackets, or new tabs? There is a bracket hole for the luggage rack on the sub but im afraid it would be too far back. Any input would help. Thanks!

I had the same problem. Cut a rectangle in the rear fender for a FIB setup and shitcan the whole passenger peg idea, they're pretty damn useless

Re: Rear peg relocation on DRZ....anyone?

Wouldn't it work to just replace the stock passenger pegs with fixed stunt pegs? I have a stock sport/luggage rack mounted behind the seat, by cutting out a hole in the rear fender I should get a perfect FiB setup like StuntTard's talkin about. It's a pretty good option but it depends on which rack you have, I've seen several different. Otherwise if you really want to stick with the pegs, there might be a way to fasten them higher up on the subframe but I guess you'll have to make holes through the plastic in that case, could get complicated...

Don't need a rack. Cut a hole in the rear fender right before the subframe crossbrace and all your weight goes on the subframe. Done. Free.

Anyways, I'm workin' and a left side stunt peg that comes down from off of my roundbar setup, I'll post pics when it's done. Holla!

Mount a peg on the rear wheel-axle? works good on rl-cirkles at least

Here's what I did to my existing subby. These are on Katooms, but it's easy fix and I'm sure it'd work on your DRZ too.

Although you could have a custom subframe fabricated like my buddy here did also, if you want to drop some serious coin!

Even if you don't know anyone with a welder, you can pay someone you don't know, just make sure that thier welds are solid AND pretty! lol
but then call up Ryan Moore over at ESD Manufact. and get some of his motard stuntpegs, and figure out where you want them and mount em up!

Everyone knows,I sold my tard.... but I sure as hell kept my ESD motard stunt pegs!!!

Whew!....that post was close to a "guru story"! haha.... It was epic!!!

yea... on off peg circ's and shit you can turn your foot in so that your heel rubs on the sprocket for some rear brake action! LOL

That isn't a joke either BTW... just funny cuz it's true!

no... I just didn't have a handbrake on my 110 and I had an axle peg comin off the left side so that I could cover the rear brake on my right side with my right foot.. but if I wanted to combo circ and needed to use the rear brake I would rub my shoe on the sprocket edge and chain to have a similar effect as a rear brake without needing to keep my right foot stationary.
defintaely not the right way, but it worked!
Not practical or possible on a bigger bike I wouldn't think...

I bought a pair of bmx pegs today, was gonna put one up on the subframe kinda where the helmet lock is but I was seriously considering replacing the skateboardwheels I have attached on the rear axel (cheaper then real sliders ) with the new pegs , but I dunno usin ur foot on the sprocket as rear brake doesn't seem all that practical so I might just figure out a way to replace the stock passenger pegs with these ones instead

Re: Rear peg relocation on DRZ....anyone?

Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan.....

I ben thinking about it, and I paid like $185. plus shipping for mine...

I have them still, and one bracket is bent and has a crack in it that could be welded back up for $20. but I was thinking of gettin rid of them to someone that could use them... they're just sitting around waiting for me to buy a new motard to go with them at the moment!

I'd probably sell them since I need money for a hb set up on my F4i...

jstuntlocke@yahoo.com << I'll send you some pics if you hit me up here and want to save some money off new and pick up some used ones.. OR you can hit up Ryan on his ESD website the easiest probably too.

um.. no comparison here for BMX freestyle pegs and it's not just the pegs.....
it's the pegs, replaceable delrin sliders on the end of the pegs, and the brackets that are CNC'd from a solid chunk... gimme a break man.. it's not just for pegs....

They're sittin in front of my monitor on that desk in the pic below if you are confused..... I don't care either way.. I just think it's going to be a while before I pick up another motard, and so I'd probably do mine for $100. plus shipping as they sit now....

no bunk axle pegs here man.... Just like having actual passengar pegs?? it honestly can double your bag of tricks immediately havin two more pegs to jump around on that aren't on the axle unless you are talkin about for a fiddy.

you get what you pay for
