Re: Stunting 05 crf 450r

Don't fall. lol. I got the same setup. I'm on my 4th set of bars and cracked my oil case today. Yeah and definataly set the idle up a little. It helps a lot at slow speeds.

i can scrape fender in first gear and noticed theres a idle ajuster just haven't thought about doing anything else but scraping. ima learn coasters on it then try to spin some sit down circles. are the case covers expensive?

Re: Stunting 05 crf 450r

not too bad, 150 bucks for the oil case and new bars again. 2 days old. about like 300 in damages when you add in shipping and all that little stuff.

Re: Stunting 05 crf 450r

It's honestly the bars that kill you. Like 70 bucks after one fall and they don't hold up to pavement. The bikes are ment to take a spill and survive it. But i guess that's on dirt, not pavement.

Rethal and protapers. Both haven't held up to anything. Just put on some renthal fat bars. I'll tell you how they hold up...

Re: Stunting 05 crf 450r

yea i use to lay my xr600 down constantly and the hand gaurds saved my bars 300/302 times just a tad bend was all

they was the cheap kind that you can buy in any cycle shop on the rack

i guess there cheap cause there heavy and not race weight but hell they held up fine and and that 88' xr wasnt any light bike either

Re: Stunting 05 crf 450r

Yeah, i've seen a bunch of people with em. I assume they work, but i snapped mine putting em on. I got MSR ones, and they wouldn't fit the way i wanted, and i guess i pulled too hard.

Has anyone ever got they on Renthal Fat Bars, I've been grinding em down, but it's such a pain...

Re: Stunting 05 crf 450r

i dont use barkbusters myself i use some pretty big ones

if you want them to look nice buy some of the better brands like Acerbis but i like mine, they have held up real well, countless times i have set down my bike in a not so gentle way lol

heres the ones

oh and if you have fat bars you would need to buy the fat bar adapters they are just wider clamps is all

Re: Stunting 05 crf 450r

Get some aluminum reinforced handguards. I would not recommend the Tusk guards because the inside mounts break very easily and you will end up spending as much on new mounts as you would buying a better quality handguard. Guards will help to save your bars in most cases.

Re: Stunting 05 crf 450r

speaking of bars.... how fast are you dropping your bike that you are destroying bars. i dropped my cr125 trying a stoppie and it took it like a champ just broke the ball off the clutch lever. it took 30+mph on my xr200 to bend bars and they still werent bad at all. just readjusted them and got back to beating the snot out of it......this was after a week or so of recovering from road rash. i do not use any hand guards. i dont like them.

Re: Stunting 05 crf 450r

Fat Bars are awesome...looped out again today...(really gotta stop falling). But my triple clamps messed up and my bars are perfect. Also the bark buster things kick ass too. The bike did better than me...
