| CRF450X or CRF450R for street? Ok Ive had enough I need a street bike and I want a motard so Im going to the dealer tommorow to work out some numbers...My question is what other difference is there between the X and R besides the headlight/taillight? Obviously the X should have a little less power because it has to power a lighting coil, and the exhaust looks a little differnt. But what is better buy a R and get a coil for it and set it up for the street or just get the X? Also where it the best place to buy a wheel and front brake kit from? Id like to possibly get billet wheels for it instead of spoked wheels... |

| Re: CRF450X or CRF450R for street? X has taller trans. gears. You can also put the 450R cam and some other mods on it to make it as fast. I think Larry Ward runs the X in the AMA supermotard series. So I would say X all day. Then you could also use the X hand sign when you blow somebodies mind on it. LOL! |

| Re: CRF450X or CRF450R for street? depends on whether or not youre going to make it street legal. the r is faster yes....but the x is easier to convert and cheaper. alot more highway friendly as well. |

| Re: CRF450X or CRF450R for street? 450X - Stronger engine, thicker walled frame, wider transmission ratios, less maintenance, torquier motor. You can put the R plastics on it if you want. Probably wont throw the rod through the cases like the 450R's do either.
