Motard cush drive, Who runs them, who doesn't?

I'm getting my motard set up and am debating whether to run a cush drive back wheel or not. Has anyone experienced trouble from not using them on the road? I'm hearing things about ruining your trans if you don't.

The only real difference is to chain life.

I've been riding supermoto 5 years now, and neither myself, or any of the guys i ride with have had any gearbox problems. The only guys i know who have a cush drive, are those who run stock KTMs.

I had the rod seize on the crank of my yz450f motard after about 20 hours of hard street riding. The bike was motarded from the start

Yep, on the same basis, you need a cush drive because my headlamp broke the last time i smashed my bike into the ground.

Re: Motard cush drive, Who runs them, who doesn't?

hmm simple way to explain it is when you take off the rear wheel whe nthe bike has a cush there will be little rubber piece right behind where your sprokect hooks to the hub

I think the yz450f/yfz450's like to do that.
