crf450, yz426 or drz400?

I've been looking at picking up a motard soon and wanted to hear your opinions on the bikes i listed. I like the fact that the drz is street legal and already comes with street rims and tires which saves me money. I read up on them a little here, and heard they are underpowered and stall at 12 though, which i dont like. Didn't see much on crfs or the yzfs, and would like to hear the plus and minus of each .

Re: crf450, yz426 or drz400?

The DRZ's are only stalling once they're re-jetted. Stock they're fine.
Nice low 1st gear too. CV carb gives smooth throttle response

CRF's and YZ's are loads lighter, and loads more powerful, but being mx bkes, have a tall 1st gear. FCR carb means real sharp throttle response. Really maintainence intensive.

WR's and CRF.***X's are as above but with lights and a wide ratio gearbox. (low 1st again) They will have less top end power than their mx counterpart, but more bottom and midrange grunt.

Best bet is a nice cheap WR400F.

I've been looking into getting into Supermotard to.

In my area they have a sportsman class and you can run any dirtbike, but it has to be stock. I was looking at getting a YZ 250F and doing that.

I know in the other classes the KTM'S are the most popular becuase they come supermotard racing! Also you can get a license plate for the KTM's SMR! So they are basically street legal from the Dealership.

I don't know to much about converting MX bikes into supermotard bikes!

Basically all a supermoto is, is a dirtbike with 17" wheels and street tires, and a bigger front rotor.
