Too heavy and low on power unless you put the Yosh SM kit on it. If you are hardcore suzuki buy a RMZ450 and convert it.

I think it would depend on the state to make it street legal. From what I've been looking at for outsourceing parts to convert. anywhere from $1200.00 to $5000.00 www.motostrano.com You can find alot of parts on E-bay as well.

Re: DR-Z400SM Pics

I run a DRZ on the road and don't have too many problems with it being underpowered, but then again we can street reg a normal E model (with higher comp than the S/SM and an FCR39 in the place of the CV). You could mod the SM to be the same as the E if you did the base gasket change to bump the comp up, at least re-jetted the CV (if you can't replace) and swapped out the cams with either E cams or with the hotter Hot Cams. But yeah, an RMZ450 SM would be righteous

Personally I do see some engine mods for me in the future though, but just hot cams and probably a 440 big bore. Already done the full yoshi thing which definately makes a difference. I use the bike as a daily rider so reliability and service intervals are important to me as well.

Got some piccies for ya here

DO NOT EVER BUY FROM MOTOSTRANO. I ordered a sprocket from them about 2 months ago for my 50. They sent me the wrong one and I still haven't gotten the correct part yet - they just keep giving me the run around. Finally they sent me a return shipping form. Now I have to see if they ever send me the right part.
