I really hope all our stoppie contest don't become target stoppie. target stoppie is okay... but honestly boring for the crowd to watch. and takes out all the excitement. stoppies are the one thing in our sport that has a clear cut winner and plus seeing people b\push it like they do from a 300ft approach is nuts. maybe if they do target stoppies but have the target like 400 feet or more from the line then itll be interesting. but this target only being like 60ft or whatever it was at stuntwars wisc is boring and gay.

why not do target stoppie and longest stoppie.....

in all seriousness why is there seem to be such a push for target stoppie and people not wanting to do longest stoppie anymore?????????????????

what every one afraid of mitch adams....? you all see that he kills it and just give up and eliminate the contest totally.....

I think the presence of target stoppie comes from the need to have a size format at competitions. If we ever get to X GAMES, and thats a big if, they definately arent going to provide us with a drag strip size area to do stoppies. They are going to give us a 100x300 ft gravel parking lot. If we are lucky we will get polished concrete, and if we are even luckier we might get decent pavement.

Having a set area for each competition gives riders the proper amount of area to expect each time. 100x300 foot areas dont allow longest stoppie comps, no matter how much all of us would love to see them.

I think it pushes the sport a little too far away from the danger and more toward the technical too, which has its pros and its cons.

In the end I think that target stoppie is around due to the pressing needs of the sport as far as format. But if it were up to me we would all compete on the front stretch of Miller Motor sports park. Gangster straight and length!

valid point. never looked at it from that angle.

another cool thing to add to it would be target stoppie around a turn. so say you have a straight and then have to hit the target around a 90 degree bend or something. or maybe have to weave through cones to get to the target.....now that would be some sick shit.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jkZwJUfqkkg
thats the only video I can think off of hand that kind of has an example of what I am talking about with weaving around or through cones.

Re: The New Stoppie Piece!!!!!!!!

yeah if you include turns you narrow it down to like 2 people per competition that might be able to do it

exactly. who ever said theres no more room for improvement.

shit if I was a competitive rider in XDL and stuntwars series and only two people were seriously competeing for the target stoppie comp. I would make the extra time to step my stoppie game up when practicing in the lots....thus pushing the sport little more. inch at a time.

just thinking outloud.
