Watched a rider die tonight - Detroit Street Ryders

Well, some friends and I went down to Bell Isle tonight, rode thru, and left. We got onto Jefferson going West, and there it was, 2 riders down, 1 in the middle of the road, and the other laying half on the sidewalk with his helmet and a boot off. He was DOA. We got there right after it happened, before the rescue. We never really figured out the whole story. From what we heard, the DOA rider was doing a stunt (Crossed up endo) at a high rate of speed and lost it hitting rider 2 who for some reason was standing in the middle of Jefferson off of his bike (while it was still on) ???? This is what we heard, and as I said, we didn't actually see it. The riders were from a Detroit group, but I can't remember the name of it right off hand. It was a terrible site to see. Several of his group were standing there, and all I could think was that I was glad it wasn't any of you. Please be careful out there people. You are all my friends, and I don't want to lose any of you. Sorry I'm so sappy, it was just a rough site.

Jester....is this your post, or a copy of something you received????? who did this person ride with....has anyone found out who this is?.....there is nothing worse than getting that phone call eaarly in the morning.....first they ask if you are alone....then they tell you to sit down.......then your world is torn apart......I feel for their families......for I have been there.....

Yeah, it's my post. I just saw on the news that the rider that was hit was an off duty DPS officer. He had gotten off his bike to pick something up out of the street when he was struck by the DOA biker. They were both 28. The DPS officer is in Serious/critical condition. The DOA rider was from Detroit Knights or something like that. Still not really sure on that though.

Jester.....bro.....I wish I could erase the sight from your head but can't. I have been "fortunate" to not be there....but have gotten that call like three times.....two when I was a child.......lost two uncles within a couple years.......lost a local friend 2 days after my uncle.....but the worst was when I lost my bro..........at first I thought it was a joke and told the person on other end it was not funny.....but he got quiet.......then it hit me......my brother was gone......I woke up face first on living room floor.....Ritchie Rich screaming in the phone "Brian goddamnit it talk to me".....its been over 2 yrs.....sometimes riding is harder than others......he died doing what he loved.....so whoever he was: Honor his life by riding tomorrow.....rain or shine....even if it is just a block or two......be on two wheels. Sorry for the rant.......

If the Guy was in the middle of jefferson was a Black guy i know who he is,I've rode with him before,He works out the 9th on graoit and gunston.Was he on a yellow and black gixxer?

Sorry you had to see that Jester. Lost my dad about 10 years ago, saw him an hour after he hit a wall on his 750. wasn`t a good sight. My brothers saw him while he was still dieing in front of them they`ll never forget it they say. But you just got to get back on your bike and ride for them too.

The DOA rider was on a Blue/Black GSXR, the guy in the middle of the road was on what I believe was a Gold or Copper GSXR or ZX?. It was kinda hard to tell what the bike was from the position we were at. I saw the bike, but it was a ways down in between the lanes behind a cop car.

that sux you had to see that..... i saw a bad car accident when i was a kid....it was my neighbor....she had died also.....i remembered all the times i talked to her.....then to see her lie there motionless is something ill never forget...
