Re: Nates New Ride

So all in all im just rippin her down to the frame and suspention.
cab mounts im cuttin off next thursday and then unbolting the tranny and motor and then thats coming out. then im getting a sandblaster and blasting it down then por 15 coating it.

now im shopping around for a 12v cummings motor. so i can put that damn thing in. do some suspention and break work. then mod in a f350 dash and steering coloum. racing seats. 08 ford center council. fix the floor pans. put her back together. and then paint then she will be all done for the most part. some odds and ends after that. (weatherstripping, electronic locks and windows. new wheels and tires and performance upgrades.

Re: Nates New Ride

i might come out of this with under 5 grand into it including the truck. my buddy has a 79 that needs a motor cuz his is hydrolocked. and he has a cummins for his dodge. (he doesnt know about diesels all that much, so he bought a 12v instead of a 24v for his 2004. So we might trade motors. im pretty stoked.

Re: Nates New Ride

Going to pick up my cummins motor tomorrow for 2 grand. only 48k miles out of a 96 dodge. with a updated p1700 fuel pump and fuel plate work and timing work
now i just gotta order my mounting kit. and find a dang 4x4 trans cuz I know that trans will not hold up to cummins haha. and its a redic amount for adapter plates. way over what i can just buy a used trans for.

Re: Nates New Ride

Took a few hours and started cleaning, degrease, and sanding shit down. Got some high temp. paint and a spray gun and started going at it. was just gunna do the exhaust manifold and turbo exhuast housing. but then i said screw it and might as well do the whole block.
Tomarrow I gotta go to browns before class and get a wire wheel for my drill. gunna polish up the end of the turbo. the top tappet covers. alternator, pumps, intake manifold, and some other vairous things. then gunna go get a gloss heat temp paint and gloss some other things just so its not all just flat black. should be sweet when its done.

I dont have much time tomorrow cuz i got work then class. but wends. im gunna finish up the rest of that side. the do the other majority of the front and the whole other side.

God it looks a trillin times better already.

Re: Nates New Ride

Did some more painting and cleaning today. just got a lil more scrubbing to do on the front below the oil fill. theres like a pound of burn access oil under there lol.
painted my turbo, intake manifold, and polished my alternator and a/c pump and tension pulley. umm cant seem to get my clutch fan off. have to find someone who has a tool for it :/
ohh well. oh and if anyone has a 4x4 trans that will work with my 96 motor that would be sweet to buy. Id prefer a manual but ill take an auto if its a good deal.
