all the help i can get

YO.
im buying a bike in under 2 weeks i need to know what the best starter bike would be.... my buddies all are buying r1s and shit..... 1. i can't afford them / 2. i dont wanna kill myself on my first bike.
I like the way the ninjas look but a few guys already told me that would not be a good starter bike....
like the way the r6 looks too

also should i buy a used bike first or a new one?!?!?

any advice would be appreciated also if you know of anyone who is selling a bike plz tell me what kind and year.... my aim name is bigt347

Welcome to the Site A great first bike is about any 600 out there. I'm going to recommend an older model because they are A.not as powerful B. heavier C. NOT NEW! Reasons for this, you are almost 99% guarantee'd you'll drop it. Veterened guys drop their bikes too. I love the R6 idea, just go for an older one to learn on. Go a season on that, then if you think you're ready for more, move up.

R6 makes for a good 1 st bike i got mines and i am happy its not as bulky as the r1 and its easy on the throttle but fast at the same time its just a pain in the a$$ to wheelie
