Cage Comparison

Throughout the past year we have expiremented with many different styles and types of crash cages. We have came to the conclusion that nothing compares to the new and improved cages that Freestyle Ingenuity offers. Freestyle has the most "rider friendly" cages on the market, by this i mean when riding you really cant even tell they are there.....Vs. the other cages that are bigger, bulkier, and a real pain on the shins.....

Freestyle has has been manufacturing these cages longer than anyone out, and continue to make small changes here and there to fufill stunter's needs. They are now manufacturing their cages with one of the strongest steels out, chromoly. The new added strength that the FI cages now offer has really made our descision a no-brainer. Another thing that we noticed when testing the different brand of cages out, is the way they will "flex" when hitting the ground, which many times equals a broken stator. The new FI cage has very little, if any flex at all. The way Freestyle cages fit the bike allow it to roll to its resting position instead of the blunt impact that other cages have, which takes alot of stress off of the mounting points......

So to anyone out there looking for a cage that is comfortable, in-expensive, and that gets the job done, I really think Freestyle Ingenuity is the only way to go. For any additional info on FI cages, visit their site....http://www.freestyleingenuity.com or purchase them here https://www.stuntlife.com/store/freestyleingenuity.htm

Re: Cage Comparison

ive got to tell you, ive backed 905 for a while, they are good cages. but you are right about the blunt force when you crash, and i keep snapping welds on minor 12 get offs. sick of re welding it and sending them back to be fixed, i think i will try a FI when i finish destroying this one....anyone hook me up on a deal ??? can get 905 for 250 shipped, think fi will match it, if so im down to buy one right now....

Re: Cage Comparison

I've witnessed F4i's get slammed on an FI cage time and time again..very impressive reliability.
I rock one on my 929 and have'nt had even the slightest problem.
The cr-mo cage is .

Re: Cage Comparison

I have rocked a FI cage for amost 2 seasons now and it is being replaced by a 905 in about a week....I got to be honest and say for the most part it did a decent job, but both subframe tabs are long gone (replaced with stronger ones) b/c of the support bars and the long frame sliders really did a number on the far motor mounts..Now I dont have the new Chromoly loop and maybe that would help but it seems the FI cage I have flex's in a bit to much and has shattered many engine covers...I really think for 01/02 gixxers a better design would of been to not use the subframe tabs as the back brace point b/c they are so weak...

All in all I guess I would say I am satisfied but at this point in time the cage is in ruff shape and needs to be replaced...so I have heard enough good things and seen a few 905 cages in action to give them a try...

This is not a plot to hate on FI, Tim has actually given me good service...But at this point I think I would like to give another cage a chance to prove itself..

Cheers

Thats the power of choice....We ordered a few 905 cages this time for the rest of the crew..so it will be interesting to see how they hold up...

Re: Cage Comparison

thats why yall should have gotten a honda......hahaha, jk......we had a gixxer6 and had the same problem with the weak subframe tabs, but after we beefed them up a lil we never had a problem again........and the new beefed up support bars that FI uses definetly took the flex that you are talking about away........pimp cages!!

Re: Cage Comparison

Well that would make them better for sure, cuz I cant tell you how many times I have had to restraighten those flat support bars and I am on my 2nd loop..but not the chromoly one...My problem is that it was time for a new cage and I just couldnt go with them again...Who knows the 905 might be worse but I gotta give it a try..

Cheers
